Spence turned us down twice, Cig didnt even wait to see if an offer was forthcoming, there is no way that any job which requires living in Detroit could be considered better, now I did ask for a link and you provided one, but it was still hearsay.

As for Cignetti...doesn't it make more sense for him to stay in California? He recruited the state when he was at Fresno, and becoming the OC at Cal won't even require him to move. Perhaps he "didn't even wait to see" if an offer was coming because Fulmer told him that one wouldn't be coming.

As for suggesting that any job in Detroit couldn't possibly be considered better than coaching at UT...well, that's just a matter of opinion. All we know is that the job in Detroit pays more than the job in Knoxville...you can't blame Fulmer for losing Kippy.

We can speculate all you want. How about this.......Cig never thought he was going to be a serious contender for the job so he took another offer. There, we will play it your way.

:peace2: everything on all of our parts is specualtion, even what you quoted in the "Independent Mail" (doesnt exactly sound like USA Today), who knows what's really going on, but what else are we going to talk about right now?

i can't believe that if it were Adkins that it'd be drug out this long. if that does wind up being the case, then fire away as criticism would be due.

honestly, I dont think Phil can go with Adkins at this point....Volnation would implode.

Yeah, I get it. Didn't find it particularly amusing, but I get it.

I was simply trying to add a level-headed perspective in response to the sky-is-falling rubbish you've been squawking all day.

I love Fulmer...... He put UT back on the National Map!

But look at all the Coaches that came from the Majors era! TONS on his staffs! How many Head Coaches have come from Fulmer's Staffs?????

It's a catch 22! good coaches leave for bigger things, loyalty breds consistency! which do we want????

that may be a problem?

I believe the answer to your question is one, and he coaches at Duke. Correct me if i am wrong.

And I would much rather have a good coach for five years, than have a bad coach for twenty.

I doubt CPF reads VolNation.

Where else could he and his staff go and get real-time feedback on the feelings of the fan base on a regular basis? I know that he will do what he thinks is best for the program, but to have insight into what your customers are thinking is invaluable in any business.
