Coaches - Brian Billick?

Just curious...how many times has a Super Bowl winning coach become a college head coach?

HECK NO!! Billick is a moron. He cost J.Lewis the single-season rushing record in-order to "save" him for the playoffs. Then during the first round Lewis only got around 5-6 carries. This, on top of him not being a good coach, is why I would never want to see him here. Not worried though, Dooley will get it done.

I seem to remember Pittsburgh in the final game having something to do with Jamal not getting the record that year.

Seems like no matter who is the coach here is the nit pickers would find a reason to roast the HC. The biggest problem with coaches turning down HC here is not the money, its the fans unrealistic demands. Fans want 8 wins a season minimum, they feel they deserve that because hey we are UT, anything else and the HC is a POS.

This past season are running game sucked, fans jump on HH and blame him and want to run him out of town when the blame should have went to Chaney. Our secondary had to be revamped because of JJ and the weed, started a lot of youth and players not playing their true position, as the season went on there were signs of improvement till the injury bug struck again. What happens next? fans calling for the head of Joseph, the list goes on and on.

Towards the end I hated Fulmer with every fiber in my body but I never wished for us to lose so Fulmer would be fired. I don't understand the need for fans to blast the coaching staff and compound our problems to recruits and current players, the best way to motivate people to be better is thru positive reinforcement, not bashing.

Dooley and company have the upcoming season to prove they can make it happen, show some support, be positive, the worst thing that can happen is he fails and we replace him or they turn the corner and we all are happy. Sems like a win win situation to me.

Would you be interested in Brian Billick as a possible HC if Dooley is gone?

I mean I know we all have a wish list...

He is a coach that has been away from the game for a while, but listening to him do color on the NFl games, the guy is sharp

And maybe Peyton Manning will be his OC. But seriously, you people are making my head hurt.

That's utter nonsense. Every fanbase of programs that have a winning tradition gets irate EVERY YEAR expectations are not met. Period. Had Dooley shown some gradual improvement, at least beating the teams we are supposed to beat, then there would be more patience. But when you have the program going in reverse from year 1 to year 2, what the hell do you expect?

I don't think there is any point harping about it at this stage. It's too late. If there were going to be any firing it would have to be within the first week after the season ends. If coaches and recruits walk away, it won't be because the fanbase. It will be because of Wins and loses and and their perception of the team's future.

He was pulled for the last 6 qtrs or so of the season pretty much. He wasn't given his carries or he would have gotten it. Always irked me. With that record J.Lewis may have had a chance at the HOF.
