Coaches All-SEC team...not good

WOW - one guy (Callaway as a return specialist) on the SECOND team and two guys on the third team (Warrior and Taylor at DB).
I want to argue with anyone that says Butch could recruit to the SEC - or is this another in the cap bad player development.

Alabama QB Tua Tagovailoa, Auburn DL Derrick Brown among stars on the coaches All-SEC team

It's upsetting to discover that the Vols are still trailing Vanderbilt in talent, I want to disagree but, the coaches probably know more than VN

Well, I think all of it can be attributed to lack of player development which encompasses lack of knowledge about the game at the highest level, poor development of linemen which created problems for skill players to perform at their potential, unwillingness to play people where they want to play, bonehead hires and promotions, multiple coaches in and out of a fragile program, and undervaluing size and strength which contributed to performance and injuries.

We beat a lot of good teams out for our recruits. I think that was the one thing Butch was good at. Once he exhausted that “list of coaches” he has great relationships with (which apparently was pretty short) and lost leadership of his team by making empty promises and not taking accountability, there was little he could do with these guys.

Jeremy is a true relationship guy. Fitz respected him enough to stick around and finish the job and Pruitt seems pretty loyal to his team. They will continue to recruit well if those coaches stick together, they will coach up the talent they bring in and those numbers will change!

Kevin Byard just became the highest paid safety n the nfl and has destroyed it since he entered the league.Dude didn’t even make the NFL top 100.Sum of this crap is just a popularity contest the other half is actually talent based but I wouldn’t think to much into it.

I guess this will be one of the bullet points for why Pruitt should get a pass if the team tanks again.

It will be year two after a decade of bad coaching. We have to make a bowl game, growth is important. But it's gonna take yearS to get all the way back. So, no CJP should not and will not be given a pass forever. However, he should be graded on a scale for a few years and a loss to some teams in the AP top 5, no matter how bad, is not grounds to fire this man.

Confirmed that Butch did not recruit Dobbs, Kamara, Hurd, Barnett, or Malone. Butch recruited starters and guys that would be backups. Problem is most of the good players he recruited transferred out or quit in 2016 and 2017. We’re left with guys that should be backups that maybe earn a start their red shirt junior or senior year having to play as sophomores.

How about losses to unranked teams that finish with losing records?

Preseason Coach’s all conference teams are poor indicators of players performance. Most HC have only watched film on upcoming opponents, plus most HC watch much less film than their assistants and analyst.
I have always thought it to be a poor idea to have HC polls and all conference teams. There is no way they can make accurate evaluations based on the fact they are not observing a multitude of games. They are primarily focused on their team.

Do you really think head coaches sit around filling out these crap surveys? At best it is probably some SID. At worst, some GA who brings coffee to the meetings. I am sure for bama it was likely given to Butch Jones to fill out and send in.
