Coach tyndalls offensive system

All I'm saying is the tempo will be fast you get the athletes tyndall had and put them against Louisville and pitinio they are lucky they got 40 I mean how many players on that team can compare to Russ smith chris jones and like hancock? It's common sense you put the Southernmiss talent agiasnt Louisville and they will get blow out southern miss did not have any players like rich or hubbs or even Reese so of course uofl will spank them

So Southern Miss was the worst team Louisville played last season?

it is ok to be negative and have differing opinions toward the coach. im not sold on him myself but his posts do not reek of butthurt over a former coach.

And me saying that Tyndall's offense isn't a run and gun reeks of butthurt over a former coach? You're trying to draw conclusions that aren't there man.

I'm not saying Tyndall should've beaten Louisville, but this perception that we're gonna be "running and gunning" is idiotic.

it depends on what u consider running and gunning.....if people are expecting us to be pearl's first teams, the running rebels or any other team like that than they are wrong. if they consider it being a high turnover creating team fast breaking off turnovers....very active offense with alot of slam dunks than they may be right. The first thing CDT came in and said to the team was " how do u feel about dunking" or something along those lines. it sounds pretty exciting to me.

u r right that we will be average in points scored but calling it very, very slow is a stretch. i think i finally remembered the word for his offense that i saw in an article when he was first hired. we will have a very active offense.....that was the problem with the last two coaches on offense.

Active offense is good. Run and gun and uptempo are much different than active. We will force steals where we run but we will run a much better half court set and will slow it down when we don't have turnovers

Tyndall has said a lot of things that weren't true, it's called coach speak

Seems like the argument is centered around the difference between transition offense and half-court offense. Tyndall is going to have a pressing defense that has the capability for fast transition points (supporting the "run and gun" argument). However, in the half-court sets, it will be working the ball around for a good shot (supporting the slower pace argument). It is a good mixture that gives all types of basketball fans the pleasure of viewing.

Then why did no other team score 40 or less?

Some teams struggle
Against other teams believe me last year my team beat a team that was the #5 high school in our region but then we lost to the worst team and after we watched its because of the styles ,it's hard to play full court with a full court press

Interesting, don't remember the "bad game" excuse flying with you when we put up 30 something....

He hasnt coached a game here yet......trust me he will get all kinds of grief if he struggles on the court and in recruiting here at tennessee.

exactly, should be fun if he is able to translate previous success with it at other schools to tennessee...i dont even think it was the slowing it down that bothered people as much as the lack of motion in the motion offense.

So southern miss was the only full court press team Louisville played? Don't think so.

Think what you want, but I assure you his style isn't running and gunning, the points per game will be similar to what they were under Martin.

Did you miss the Jordy Mac multiple SCTop 10s last year?

i dont know if u realize this but i watched every tenn game last yr....yes jordy is a good dunker but from everything i have readnit appearsbto be a much bigger part of CDT's offense. im hoping it is.

Well show me footage of a Martin team doing a 3 man weave the hash leading to a alley oop slam

oh good grief its like Dooley beating Butch at Cincy.

If i may be so bold ... His point is that CDTs offensive schemes are generally very average in tempo. Scoring less than 40 vs UL is to illustrate that point, along with the statistical facts imo.

Just bc CDT uses full court pressure D using speed, endurance and length does NOT mean his O philosophy is like Pearl's "controlled chaos" scheme. That scheme set some UT scoring records and entertained a lot. CDT plays pressure opportunistic D, takes easy transition scores or becomes deliberate and shot clock eating in the 1/2 court.

Will the team run? While or after running will they gun? There you go - run and gun.
