Coach Tyndall Grants Releases.

The players said in interviews in Martins first season that Martins offseason regimen was the toughest thing they had ever done. If martin is as soft as you all say, then ol' CBP's workouts must have consisted oreo eating contests and sprints to the fridge

It seems like everyone is choosing to look on the bright side.

The truth is that coaching changes suck and are never easy. CDT is doing the "right" thing but it doesn't mean he has some secret amazing plan and that he wanted these guys to leave all along.

Martin's teams didn't average over 70 ever, did they? How many did we put up against Georgetown last year again?

We averaged 72.2 ppg last year. USM scored 38 vs UL. They scored 66 vs South Alabama, 67 vs Houston Baptist , 60 vs UAB, 64 vs MTSU etc. Maybe the recruits just don't like his system or style.

I do find it quite humorous how Nic was raved about for having these guys in such great shape, and now all of a sudden everyone of them is a bunch of pu$$ies.

Seems like we will take Charmichael and Suarez package deal now and still have room for Cofer and Ellis if they decide to come.

They're USM and we are UT... Not exactly comparing apples to apples..CDT's records after taking over God awful teams is all I need to see.

They're not at UT anymore, so to hell with em.. I'll never understand ppl backing coaches and players that turn their backs on us.

Be careful, the Cuonzo crew are desperate, and there only hope is to keep building up his recruits like they were Lebron and Kobi.

Just speculating which is all we can do, but I would guess that there is some personality conflict between coach and players. I doubt it has anything to do with workouts or even systems at this point.

going by espn ....they said tenn avg 71.3 ppg and SMU avg 71.6....either way who cares.....i dint think style of play has anything to do with it....i think CDT does this at every stop he has ever been at.

Someone please explain how the current situation is anything less than a total disaster. Non-delusional responders only, please.

Look at CDT's history.....he does this at every stop.....its how he rebuilds the teams in his image.

It appears, from what Ive gathered, that the roster was in such crap shape, Tyndall couldn't do much worse starting from scratch, keeping a couple key pieces. That seems to be a consensus amongst some.

Because the only proven baller on the roster is JRich and he's still a Vol. You also have to wait till the roster is complete b4 declaring the situation to be disastrous. Imo

#Vols coach Donnie Tyndall: Darius Thompson and AJ Davis have been granted releases, but we hope they return.

Tyndall: It's very important to find a PG. We will add another guard or two. We have many options that will play out over next few weeks.

Tyndall: In this business you are never surprised.

DT style of play is run and gun, press full court. These guys was more of what coach Martin was. So if they want to go then good. If they don't want to be here then let them go. We want players that want to be here. Just gives us more players to come in. We knew it was going to bad before DT came here. After what Martin left us with. I think he will bring in some good guys.

It's the most logical answer. Next year is going to be tough enough, so might as well roll with DT's own players. They may even surprise us.....

Could there be a racial aspect to their decision? They didn't sign up to play for white coaches.
