Are you impressed by coach speak? There are too many examples to list here, but does it get you all giddy when you hear a coach say things that are obviously not how he really feels?

I take it for what it is. It really doesn't mean anything except to posters that want to over-analyze things to death. I think the coaches and players all know what it is.

You're right. The other coaches and players know exactly what it is, horse ****.

Think about it, a microphone is shoved into a coach or player's face and they're asked about the opponent they just played or the one coming up. They're all taught the "canned" answers and for the most part that's what they give.

Every now and then you'll get a Rex Ryan or Steve Spurrier that breaks that mold a little.

Those guys are certainly the exception. I also enjoyed Mike Gundy's "i'm a man" speech a couple years ago.

You never know whats going to come out of Mike Leach's mouth either. If nothing else he is entertaining.

Anything besides coach speak brings too much drama with it. Personally I would rather keep it on the field instead of turning CFB into the WWE.. JMO

The question is about VN gettin' all worked up every time Dooley says he is excited about _____________.

He has to say that.

I don't care if it is or isnt coach speak sometimes, but you know it's coming when you hear a question.

What I don't like is when a coach answers a question with brutal honesty and is lambasted for it. People complain when they hear coach speak, then also complain when a coach answers the question.

Tell me a coach who doesnt say that

Its part of the game created by the media. Media fuels all the BS talk

Yeah, that's the point of the thread. And that fans take everything a coach says as gospel. There are a handful of exceptions. This thread isn't just about Dooley only, but 90% of football coaches.

For the most part, isn't Dooley pretty honest? He tells the fans we're not very good when, in fact, we haven't been very good. I think of "where's Rommel" when I think of Dooley and coach speak. As for this time of year, he would rather not talk to the media at all so he certainly is not going to stir up some s*** storm and make himself have to talk to them more.
