Coach Rumph confirms in speech today!!!

When I read that coaches are saying fans shouldn't speak out on social media because it is hurtng recuriting, I call B.S. Lets put this in context. Fans were not upset last year when we realized talent and develpoment were a problem. It wasnt until we saw the worst football every played at this univedrsity and what is inexplicable and unwatchable that fans and the nation began to speak out and point out that this is not a lack of talent problem. The coaches are high earners with high expectations for performance, I havent seen that they have earned their paychecks. I am expected to continue to support the vols according to coach CJP and say nothing no matter what pathetic performance I see. In each game there was a lack of effort, players were continually and almost every play out of position, execution is abysmal, and perfromance is far below expectation. Im am outraged that a coach would tell fans to shut up, and further outraged that some of our bootlicker fans would accept it in the hopes that we get better talent to solve the terrible coaching problem. Any talented kid worth his salt is going to be far more influenced by the crap on the field than enything a fan on volnation says. Those images last forever these words; who cares but a bunch of worn out fans. It other coaches are getting more mileage out of fan complaints than the excertia that CJP and coaches have shown the world, then I need to get in the coaching business since it is far easier to draw a big check and not do your job than any job I have ever had both as a coach and recuriter. This had to be approved by CJP or Rump would not say it. I may not watch another game this year since I cant say anything nice, but if I do you better beleive this VFL will speak his mind and the coaches will have to deal with it suck it up and do their job. I say stay in your lane Rump and do your job and Ill do mine.
Speaking of staying in your lane..........................

In a small way. He's right.
Not saying he should call out the fans publicly, but the vast majority of fans that don't have a freaking clue what they are talking about need to keep quiet on some issues (myself included). I'm not talking just about VN, but all UT social media.

It's amazing how "intelligent" some fans are when they can hide behind a computer or phone and throw rapid fire barbs at anyone and everyone. Recruits do see this, and anyone thinks it doesn't effect some recruits are nuts. I promise it effects some.

With all that being said, some of it is 100% justified. But a lot of it is pure garbage. JMO.

Look we all might not be a head coach at a Power 5 school, but I think we all can figure out how to teach someone where to stand, hell I bet most of us have kids, if we can teach them to wipe their butts, we can teach someone where to stand.

Yes sir, We all must go along with this GAG business, the 1st Adm be damned! Is there a special office set up in AD, where we can send our posts for their approval, and corrections/censorship, before we post anything? I sure hope so, the very idea that we all Americans should have freedom of Expression is crazy-thanks for the great post, now if we could just do something about some of those other constitutionally protected rights......

Rumph is directing his energy at the wrong people. Rocker and the d-line need to get it together!

I think the line is preforming better than I expected they would, coming into the season. I thought we would be challenged, because of lack of experience and youth. I also see them improving. Our problem is the regression of the quarterback.

I see a much better O line, that I expected. I see a talented receiver corps, that our quarterback can't seem to find.

He has lost confidence in himself and his team; and honestly, if we lose every game the rest of the way, I feel, long term we would be better off playing the freshmen the rest of the way.

This is a grossly overpaid staff based on techniques I've seen players use, player substitutions, play calls and game strategy. The entire staff should be too damn embarrassed to get on the fans. Rumph, Sherer, Johnson, Rocker & Friend should be fired at the end of the season. New coaches who are aggressive and hungry could be hired at less than half what these losers are making.

Yep. 1st Amdt be damned. Exactly what I said. smh.
Did you read what I said, or just skim through it....or just enough to fit your agenda.

Where did you hear that?

I did read it, and believe you believe it! Your opening line included, """"...but the vast majority of fans that don't have a freaking clue what they are talking about need to keep quiet on some issues..". I guess you have been given the "Special Power" to determine which fans should keep quiet and which should be allowed to post. Did that special power come with a decoder ring?

They better start coaching up BM and running him with the 1’a in practice. JG should not play another down!

Long post. When coaches start worrying about what is posted on social media, there is a really big problem.
All he was saying is that coaches, players, and fans need to all pull in the same direction. I agree with coach Rumph on this issue and I hope our coaches can get it figured out and fixed by next season.

Decoder ring included......and really cool too.

edit..........you really think the vast majority have a clue?

Negativity doesn’t help, but I only think it’s wrong when it gets personal or there are crazy conspiracy theories involved.

But, if you are looking at something that’s bad and being honest, is it negativity or is it being objectively critical?

Are you like a closet Vol fan??

I mean, yeah, you want Florida to go 15-0, but do you also want to see UT go 13-1?
Basically that's what I'm asking.

I'm tired of you posting all these logical and tempered designations about our football program. Because you're right, usually!
But you're a Gator!!

.
With the 2019 football team being the level of garbage that it is the fans have the right to complain and post on message boards and on twitter!
Oh we have the right. Just like you have a right to blow your brains out if you so chose. It probably wouldn't be the smart choice but you have a right too!

So some think it has no effect on recruiting? How do you know that exercising your right of free speech by calling for a coach to be fired has a positive effect?
Will blue chip recruits clamor to sign with UT because they don't know who the coach will be next year?

Just because you have the right to do something doesn't mean you should. When someone points that out to you, you shouldn't take it personal because, well, the other person has a right to say what the thinks too.

You failed to notice that JG isn’t an SEC QB.

You failed to secure a serviceable grad transfer QB this spring, just in case.

You failed to teach simple defensive alignment.

You failed to teach basic pass coverage.

You lost to GA State. At home.

You as a staff are making 10+ Mil a year.

Yeah.....it’s the fans fault for your screwups.

SMDH.

Lack of stability? How you figure that? Did we not give Butch 5 years? If that's not stable then IDK what is. This is coaching man, if you can't get the players lined up on defense correctly, which you've had months to learn, and you'd think would be one of the first things they would teach these players, then yes it is very much on coaching.

Who said they weren’t lined up correctly? And no, 5 yrs isn’t very stable. It takes that long to recycle players.

I can probably say that fans on a message board aren't exactly a top priority to big time recruits. Actually seeing a winning product on the field I'm going to bet is a bigger concern. After watching this team, if you had a son who was a top recruit would you let him come here?
