Coach rejections to date - the running list

If Chip Kelly being named head coach of UCLA isn't conclusive enough, I have no other words.

Mostly internet, some common sense.

Patterson, Gundy, Fuente, Mullens, Campbell, Gruden, Leach, Doeren, Brohm, and Kelly are well documented.

If "well documented" internet stories was the standard then Jon Gruden would be shoring up this years recruiting class and I'd be booking a room in Atlanta for next December.

Believe nothing you hear or are told and only half of what you see.

Ok, you are right. All those people only spurned our affections and are still in the running to be named our new coach.

This entire thing has been a total cluster. Tennessee has only expressed real interest, meeting, and talks with 5 coaches.......and knew some was a no go anyway.....ether by Tennessee or them.

You cannot seriously believe that UT sent personnel to talk to coaches they knew would not be interested only to appease some person or people. If that is true, they are less competent that has been apparent.

I thought I read that Kelly had shown interest through a booster maybe before Butch was fired and he couldn’t get an interview? Just a rumor?? Who knows the truth anymore. As for formal interviews with serious intent to hire.

Nope didnt say that either. I they certainly went to NC ST, and did meet......but not all of the powers were on board......therefore it was doomed from the start.

Vurrie certainly met with Leach, and wanted to get him as the coach; however he wasn't given the power to make it happen at that time.

They also met with Brohm......fully knowing his buyout situation.........neither side could come to an agreement.

They certainly met with Greg and thought they had a deal........but many boosters......and others were not happy......(some were trying to appease themselves.....and that did not work.

If only one coach has declined why isn't Kelly/Gruden/Mullen/Frost/Doeren/Leach/Cutcliff/Campbell our coach?

Because they were either never contacted, or contacted but never offered.
