I suspect he got away with it because up until 2015 his teams showed steady improvement. About halfway through the 2016 season, the shine quickly began to come off.

People supported Butch for a period as he made steady improvement even though he kept making bonehead game day decisions. Recall the 1st 9 win season? How about beating UF and UGA the same season? There was empirical evidence out there other than his cute catch phrases to support him at the time. Lots of other goofy things he was doing as well, but many including me were fooled for a time as it was just win baby. Then the way the season ended Dobbs' senior year was bad and most of us knew the wheels had come off, BUT it is silly to think his catch phrases were more important than his recruiting well and improving to the point he beat our two biggest SECE rivals same season.

Strain, straining and strained. Learn how to do it, all the time. Been at a lot of places. Can't just do it when things are going well.

if he doesn't recruit and coach better he will have a nick name.....it starts with "former coach"
