Coach Pruitt and Future

I do believe we have a good game time coach and a good recruiter in Pruitt. And yes, the loss to Kentucky was only one game. But, that loss for me was concerning (as was the first loss of last season). I know we don't want to hear it but yes, it is going to take time with our 'first time' head coach. And of course, what's the alternative? Open up yet another coaching search? Who in their right mind would want to come here if, yet again, we start looking?

Relax...he's not going anywhere for at least 2 years, which is SO exciting.

Dabo also has 2 National Championships and 6 ACC Championships under his belt.

Pruitt is getting embarrassed by Kentucky on his home field his third year on the job.

Not a good comparison.
Thats true.

The comparison lies with the idea that Clemson didn't load up the Brinks truck and go hire a Saban or a Meyer type either.
They gambled on a WR coach and hit the lottery.

Pruitt may get fired, but its not happening anytime soon.

If he does, Fulmer will be gone with him. They ll replace him somebody else that doesn't have a clue and his hire will reflect that.

Pruitt hasn't shown me he's a good game time coach.

Name coaches that took 5-7 years to get to high levels of success and sustained that success, and compare them to coaches that did it in year 2-3, maybe 4. I feel like the lists will speak for themselves - it doesn’t take 5-7 years to build a division competing team.
I’m pretty lazy, can you compile that list for me?
GBO!!

Use Covid as the excuse in true Sunshine Pumper fashion.
Whether you like to admit it or not, this covid panic has had a huge negative affect on many things. Hell, I lost a job over this bullsh!t.

Certainly it has. And I am sorry you lost your job. My wife did as well.

I'm referencing the portion of the fanbase that seems to think Covid only made a stop in Knoxville, TN the last 7 months, as if it is something unique to UT football.

Sorry for your loss. I lost my job due to COVID as well.

However, I don’t think COVID is the main reason why Pruitt is struggling to get his team on the right track.

First off it should never take 7 years for a new coach to build a winnable team. That’s the most ridiculous thing I e ever heard. Secondly, it’s this one puzzling decision that’s held the entire program back. Pruitts inability to recognize the significance of qb play (and how bad Jg is) and get someone else in there. Maurer could be entering his second year as a starter. Or bailey could had the first couple of games before uga to get ready along with all the first teams reps the starter gets in practice. Instead he just kept sending JG out there preventing anyone else from getting the chance to improve.

It's been said that UT adhered very tightly to the recommendations, other schools not so much. Contact tracing being one, has had a huge affect on player readiness. That being said, any existing coaching short comings were there before covid and will still be there after..

Apparently Bailey has been doing NOTHING!

Agreed on JG. Pruitt either made the wrong call on JG or had no better alternative. Neither situation looks good for him. Though, I still believe in Pruitt (eternal optimist).
