This is what my Fulmerite friend says. He says Fulmer wouldn't be in the news with all these violations. Does anyone have any numbers on how many secondary violations UT had under Fulmer? Seems like we got slapped for that Eric Locke situation with more than a secondary. Anyone know?

No, but I know Saban had a bunch, Richt had a bunch, I'm sure several other schools had (have) a bunch, but you hear nothing of them. We wouldn't be hearing about these except for the way CLK has called out the other schools and got the media's attention.

In 2001, Fulmer had 9 secondary violations.

Secondary violations just weren't a big deal until Lane came around. Every coach/team in the SEC averages I would say around 5-6 a year.

Fulmer may have known the rules however he did not know how to hire competent position coaches or coordinators.

You dissin' Matt Luke, Kurt Roper, Pat Washington, Larry Slade, Randy Sanders and Greg Adkins?
Lord, do you have to remind us? When you compare the current staff to those nimrods, it makes you shake your head and wonder what Phil was thinking.

You wouldn't hear about LK's, if not for the Meyer comment.

the only reason this is news is because Lane and UT want to release this information at this time for publicity reasons. Fulmer had secondary violations while he was coach. The university chose to not release them everytime they happened. Most schools only release to media once a year.

I'm really amazed that this media deal on this gets so much UT fans attention. The attention Kiffin wants is from recruits and he would really prefer fans not bitch about it.

With all the national attention it gets and all the bashing that goes on, how can we not talk about this LWS????

...this "great" staff has yet to win a game.

I'm just saying, before we put them on a pedestal above Fulmer they need to prove something on the field.

talking is fine.. the continually bitching is just not necessary.. it is rampant.. Kiffin will continue to do things that get headlines and he in msot cases probably helps write the headline... :)

here is a thought on subject. Instead of complaining about all the national press crucifying Kiffin, talk about the brillance of Kiffin getting all the national attention. That's what he thinks it is.

FWIW I ran into a friend today who is a GAy fan. He basically was laughing his a$$ off at our coach !!! He told me all about how AM 750 The Zone played the whole clip where Spurrier jabbed him a few at the SEC meetings. They said "Lane punched the button (elevator)like 3 times, while Spurrier taunted him until the door closed".........
Did this really happen, in this way ???? Ok if it did, dont want any fistacuffs but can't stand the "chuckles" he got out of telling me the story.

Funny that Spurrier keeps jabbing away while wallowing in mediocrity at SC.

The two schools will play it out on the field this year. Tell the cockhound "let's discuss this after the game".

If that fairy tale helps him sleep at night and forget about the underachievement’s of his coach then so be it.

PS: 750 is WSB and 790 is The Zone. His credibility is shot.
