Coach O will only take a head coaching job. I think he is gonna stay and take over for Monte after a few years.

Yeah, I would enjoy over-polluted air, ridiculous over-crowding, crime rates through the roof (aside from sports), and constant wildfires. Sounds like a winner to me... :bad:

Knoxville isn't bad place to live either...we don't have the beach but we can spell unbelievable...unbelievable, I know.

There's a lot more crime in LA, even more than Knoxville. Coach O wants nothing to do with that. Kiffin needs to bump his salary up a few hundred thou to keep him happy.

I find hit hard to believe that Coach O would go back to USC, he is already one of the highest paid assistant coaches in the country. It may be harder to recruit to Tennessee but we have some of the best facilities in the country, play in the SEC, and play in Neyland Stadium, and sometimes I think we have some of the best fans in the country.

We hear former USC defensive line coach Ed Orgeron expressed an interest in returning in some capacity but obviously not as the head coach.

All this dialogue RE: Cost of Living, etc. is missing the point...

If indeed CEO expressed interest and not the other way around then there is a motive.

He is actually making DC kind of money ($600K+), and he is an Assistant HC...not just in title.

He literally runs half the show (especially as a RC) here and is sort of getting OTJ HC experience without all the pressure, and it's been said many times that Monte is Coaching the Coaches...so I don't see CEO going anywhere for at least another year.

An SECC game and or win would cause his stock to go through the roof...IF we surprise and get good QB play next season and our OL shapes up by the time the season rolls around, I think we have a legit shot to beat UF and Bama next year and be sitting in the driver's seat in the SEC East.

Being offered the DC job at USC might be tempting, but one has to wonder if CEO gets tired of all this bouncing around, and for what? He could be in a sweet position coaching on a SEC team rising up instead of a program that's on it's way down (for a year or two anyway)

I would also add that, if CEO plays his cards right and has a bit of patience, he might get the keys to the Ferrari in a few years, should CLK have this team competing for SECC's, and get lured back to the NFL like Carroll did.

The longer he stays within a staff like this, the better HC'ing prospect he becomes, IMHO. I think he's been able to identify some of the mistakes he may have made while at Ole Miss, and he'd certainly have a better product to sell to recruits if he held on for a few years instead of darting after the first squirrel that steps into his yard, so to speak.

I would never live in LA but wouldn't fault anyone else for wanting to. San Diego on the other hand is everything that LA is not. Less people, less traffic, better weather, more laid back but close enough if you want to do a day trip, sporting event in LA.
