Then he just predicted 0-8 in the SEC!

No he tore TN a new one
Said focusing on stadium is stupid right now
Needs to focus on leadership and really bothered that kids of us that are in our 40's only go to games because we do and those kids don't know what success in football is.
Said we are close to falling off a cliff like NE has. He will address what he thinks needs to happen after season is over
Said actual fans that donate and dedicated are sick of what is going on.
Said school needs to make sure football program is running right then focus on everything else.

He actually just dumped on how decisions are made in the athletic department. Said that if decisions keep getting made by one individual instead of collaboratively then we are the next Nebraska.

Yes, he discussed those things. He didn't say focusing on the stadium was stupid. He said he's glad they're renovating the stadium but it would not fix what's wrong.. He hardly "tore TN a new one".

I actually took his comments on the coaching situation i.e. "I have a LOT of information that has been going on", "I have already written shows regarding decisions which will be announced publically soon", "There will be in-depth conversations regarding the decisions being made on UT Football Program"...

to kinda conclude that not only has a decision already been made, but a successor already secured.

He didn't say improving the stadium is stupid.

He said improving the stadium won't solve our football team's issues.

Those are two quite different things. I do not think Mathews is opposed to stadium renovations at all (as you seemed to be saying), he's just not letting it distract him from what he thinks is the more important topic: getting Tennessee football back where it should be.

I think the rest of your summary of his comments is pretty close to accurate, close enough. But you missed on that one point.

Everyone needs to listen to the last 15 min of his show. A lot of things he said and used as comparisons line up with what some have been saying... (Beaver)

The scripts are already written but he won’t discuss what he already knows. At least for a few more weeks.

Nebraska wanting to conform to a more academic type program. “ whatever that is” Along with bad hires has made that school irrelevant. When 20 years ago it was a powerhouse. If we don’t change we are headed in the same path.

Yea it was interesting him saying this.. he will talk bout it when it happens and break it all down, sounds like something is already in place (who knows) but it gets my hopes up for the big time hire..
