Word has been circulating around Birmingham and Tuscaloosa that CMG is out as Bama's coach. It is reported that CMG has been having an affair with a Kappa Sorority member. As far as im concerned just more good news for fans in Big Orange country.:dance2:

I'm surprised it took him having an affair with a sorority girl to get canned.

And gottfried being out isn't good news. They may actually hire a competent coach.

I find it impossible to believe that every AD in the SEC that needs a basketball coach is going to be so gutless they continue to pass on Nolan. If Alabama or Auburn doesn't hire him at the end of the season, both of their ADs will have proven themselves cowards of the first order.

I'd just rather not have him in the SEC again. But at least it would be in the west...

I don't see him getting another opportunity, honestly. Not at his age anyway. There's no question that he could do it. If he had left the issue alone and gone away quietly there would likely be more interest. Bob Huggins got another shot for Pete's sake. But when you have tried unsuccessfully to sue your former employer it makes some AD's cringe at the thought of hiring you.

How old do you think Jim Calhoun is?

Like I said, I don't doubt that he could do it, but that combined with all the other baggage likely prevents it from happening.
If an AD is scared off by the fact a guy didn't get along with Frank Broyles, that makes him either a coward, a bigot, or both.

I think it has more to do with trying to sue the university afterward than it does anything. JMO. I agree that he deserves another shot, I just don't see him getting one.

In regardless of the reason behind the dismissal, this should have happened after last season.

If I was Jeff Lebo, I wouldn't be feeling comfortable in the chair too unless his squad has improved from years past.

This should have happened 3-4 years ago. That guy has had above average to great talent and continually loses to inferior teams.

When you sue someone for anything, right or wrong, it goes with you.

He needs to stay put.
