Glad Johnny is still in good health and can enjoy stuff like that.

Kudos to the original Johnny Knoxville.

That's a bit strange, don't you think? What does JM have to do with the ACC? That would be like Dat Nguyen (from aTm back in the 90's) being acknowledged by the SEC.

Actor Lee Majors (Six Million Dollar Man), and himself a pretty good college football player, chose his stage name because Johnny Majors was his childhood idol.

Being named a Legend is quite an honor but how many coaches have a famous movie star named after them?

Go Johnny!

I would bet its because JM is a legend as a player and a coach. A very respected man with coaching ties to a lot of conferences, divisions and the NFL ranks as well.
Plus the acc probably wants to count Pitts national championship as one of their own now lol

Pitt is in the ACC. Majors took Pitt from the depths to a national championship in four years. Stranger is that Pitt is in the ACC

not if you look back at how the SEC has done it. They have honored a lot of legends that never played in SEC

SEC Football Legends - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

its a conference event at a conference event to allow schools to honor their legends. not that the legends participated in that conference

Johnny brought back pride to the Vols in the 80's and set the stage for Fulmer's run and NC.

Guess I am in the camp of this being very weird as Majors was an SEC player and Pitt was independent when he coached there. Is Dan Marino about to be the best ACC QB of all time now along with Tony Dorsett at RB and Hugh Green at LB? Oh, and Mike Ditka at TE?

Heck of a football program back in the 70s and early 80s, there was about a 10 year span that PITT was good as anybody.:ermm:

Go Johnny!

Lee Majors was born Harvey Lee Yeary from Middlesboro KY. Was raised by an aunt and uncle after his parents both died in an auto accident.

And I peed at a urinal at TBA right next to Johnny Majors when I was 10. He was impressed (wink)

As long as we are spreading useless info............
