I hate starting threads, so if mods see somewhere else this is deemed good to merge, please do it. Serious question, though.....

I have heard multiple insinuations about friction between CLT and Nick Saban, so they just don't see him going back to Alabama. What is the back story there?

He left and joined Kiffin here. Not sure if he was put up to it , but he took some shots at Nick during the recruiting celebration. The same one that Lane accused Meyer of cheating.

I think he got tired of working on Christmas morning. IIRC there was some rumor when he got here about him leaving to smooth out his marriage due to infidelity.

Before this offseason, there were three coaches on the staff that I didn't want to lose. CLT is the only one left.:banghead2:

LT likes his lifestyle. For those questioning why LT isn't getting the dc job and are on dooleys jock about it, ask LT if he wants to manage position coaches before you assume too much.

I know this would never happen, but I've seen other teams have Co-coordinator's, it would be cool to see CLT and Sal be Co-Defensive coordinators.

You guys do realize that Thompson was a DC before, right? At UCF? His years his squads averaged 373 points given up. Not exactly stellar. 28-31 ppg given up.

If we hire SS or Green over him, I hope he does leave. It's a slap in the face, in my opinion, to hire over the guy, with someone who is no more qualified than he is. Only someone like Shannon or Everett Withers would LT would be justifiable.

I would be tired of getting promoted over if I were in his shoes. He has 3yrs DC experience at UCF and was being groomed by Monte Kiffin for the role. A decent fit might be a Co-DC arrangement.

If he wouldn't do that to keep Baggett, something tells me he won't do it for LT either. It think you'll see him be the 6th coach to leave, and if the speculation about Chaney is true, that's 7. Leaving us with the 2 least qualified coaches from his original staff. Not good.
