Coach Jeremy Pruitt Post Vanderbilt Presser

The word executed should be removed from a coach's vocabulary after his team has been murdered on the field.

I know some want to bash Pruitt for the sh*t-show tonight, but he looked and sounded just as disgusted with tonight's performance as many of us are/were.

I'm still in a wait-and-see-mode on Pruitt, but he sure doesn't sugarcoat his displeasure. I honestly think he didn't realize how far gone this program was when he took the job.

Overall, he seemed to imply that UT football is still soft and it will continue to be soft until they rollover the roster that Butch built.

I guess starting on post-season conditioning is a plus for not having a bowl game, but Fitzgerald has his work cut out for him this off season. His 2018 off-season, and in-season program didn't produce much in measurable positives.

Is there anyone else that has trouble hearing these post game or regular press conferences?

Why would you want to hear these things?

LOL

Trust me, you aren't missing anything.

Vanderbilt was better.

Injuries hurt them.

Blah blah blah.

The drop in injuries was the initial and most important concern as a fanbase, IMO. I think he succeeded there.

Definitely, but I think that's directly related to conditioning being mandatory, free-weight based, and continuing into the season, none of which were the case under Butch.

But our guys haven't gotten noticeably stronger yet; Vandy man-handled us.

That's fair. But he wasn't working with pre-hercules athletes, admittedly. Will be very interested to see what the freshmen look like coming into spring practice.

For the freshmen coming into the program in June, that's fair, but for the guys on campus already when he was hired in January, 11 months is plenty of time for results to manifest; Fitzgerald wasn't starting from zero with them.

Maybe he was actually closer to 0 than we realized. Injuries went down. But they were soft and weak.

Some of those injuries I suspect were not legit.

The clear message I got was he thinks his roster is trash at many positions. Some guys blow but know there’s nobody to take their spot.
That was the major take away I got too. Many positions that have NO competition makes the soft players even softer as they know they still get to play. Not having competition is a bad thing.
