Urban Meyer started at Utah. Saban started at Michigan State. His last O.C. came from USC. You have to be a good coach and know your stuff period. Our loaded SEC staff was awful.Lol, I thought you knew.
All I've heard is a report that he is bringing a bunch of coaches from UCF. And that sucks, because while I expect 1 or 2, we need an experienced SEC staff.

Good lord, this looks worse and worse.
Those guys were trending upward when they were hired. JH was trending downward at UCF. Do you know the scuttlebutt on UCF forums is that they are better off without him? That’s not encouraging.Urban Meyer started at Utah. Saban started at Michigan State. His last O.C. came from USC. You have to be a good coach and know your stuff period. it's difficult to get too attached to the Head Coach around here but consider this;
the Head Coach usually changes after 4 years on average:
Your new head coach will probably be gone within 4 years
The UCF Vols
Sure don't. Several posts are complaining that he may be bringing several of his OFFENSIVE staff with him. One argument against was that he is "trending downward". The implied point in my post (and, I understand implication is usually wasted on this board) is that there has yet to be a mention of bringing in his DEFENSIVE staff. His offense is more than fine.Do you need educated about points scored vs. points given up is the basis for W/L’s.
The same things were also being said when Butch brought many of his staff from Cincy, but in reality, I thought his teams - and recruiting - were doing much better before he started having to replace his original staff with "outsiders." I don't have a problem with him keeping the ones that he trusts, and counts on. I think sometimes we look at resume's as fans, but having a cohesive staff that understands how to work together may be much more important.
In 94' I was passing through the state of New York when the Rangers won their first Stanley Cup in 54 years. Stopped by a convenience store, and mentioned it to a store owner wearing Rangers gear. Congratulated him, and he grumbled about it being the Edmonton Rangers, because several of his former Oilers teammates had joined Gretzky there.
Told him, "Ya knows something? This is one thing the rest of this country realizes about New York. You all can be on top of whatever you do, and will still find something to bitch about." Obviously, you have spent some time there.
I have no problem if most of them or on the offense. In fact, that seems like a smart thing to do. It means that they know the system and their responsibilities . They can hit the practive field and not waste a lot of time learning the offense and then teaching it to the players. Most efficient way to run the program.
