These are his words exactly. I wrote them as he was speaking:
---------
"opening series of the second half. I mean..I don't know if they...you know they brought the corner and we got the bad play and we just kinda went south from there. Umm..they did a nice job in the second half of runnin the football better. Our guys...ummm..we left our defense on the field way too long. Offensively, again, struggles....and ummm...we'll continue to work like heck to get it done. I don't know where our running game has gone. It's disappointing as can be. [ big pause ] We got a big one next week. ( need some water please )."
-----------

They then proceed into questions.

I don't know why but I'm honestly always a bit surprised when he says, "we'll continue to work like heck."

I swear, if I didn't know better, I'd think u were joking......sounds like a street bum, not a head coach talking....

Has he tried on one of these? "That wasn't us." or how about "Have to see the film." or my personal fave "We're our own worst enemy." Ole Phil and his folksy cliches and crutches. What a "dadgum" loser, pardon my folksy expression.

If he cared one whit about UT, he would have resigned tonight after that slop.

good job on the quote. by putting the umm's in there makes it so that you can actually visualize CPF standing there speaking that utter garbage. I watched it on 8 and i just sat there with my jaw hanging open shaking my head.:swoon3:

I saw a lot of clapping out of Phil tonight after all the 3 and outs and other poor plays. Who is he clapping for?

As I've said before, when we win he doesn't know why we win and when we play bad he doesn't know why we play bad.

I wish just one..all it takes it just one sports writer to ask this...

Coach you've been working like Heck after every game and it's just not working. Do you why and do you have something else?

I did have to laugh - guess the stress took it's toll when Kesling asked about the gutty defensive effort given all their injuries - Fulmer answered something like: "You don't know the half of it, Bob - day to day in practice - wasn't sure who would even be on the field, they have worked their "asses" off to get back out there." - You don't usually hear Fulmer cuss on the air.

Fulmer's level of eloquence as a public speaker is only rivaled by his incompetence as a head coach.
