"The thing about UT and Fulmer is how year after year they have been in the top 5 as far as being rated for recruiting. So it tells me that it is player placement, situational game coaching, improving player skills and technique, strategy and game planning, and play calling that keeps UT down. There is only one person responsible for all of those things. I have no doubt that his heart is on the hill; but, at times, it confuses me if his mind always joins it. Same with Lloyd Carr"…

Sounds like the same thing we have been talking about all year

"My timing is based on one thing - what's best for Michigan. What's best for Michigan football. There are no other motives.

"To do it any later, to do it after a bowl game would be ridiculous. I did it for this program.

"This is much to big to be about me or someone who would coach here.

"My role in the upcoming weeks and in the selection of the coach will be defined by Bill Martin.

"As we go forward I have only one wish - that this program continue to abide by the values established by Bo Schembechler ... to win with integrity."

Fulmer, are you taking notes?

I've never understood these Carr/Fulmer comparisons. Carr won 5 Big 10 titles, Fulmer will never reach that level.

And Carr lost to a lower division school at home this season with a roster full of seniors. Fulmer will never reach that level.

Gee...thats funny. I thought the impression of Phil Fulmer that most Michigan fans would have would be 45-17 with Kelley Washington and Jason Witten running free though a slow Big10 secondary. What a joke. Go hire Paul Johnson and shut up.

Ah, I'm just going to savor this little nugget for a while... so many things I could say, millions literally, and chances are, every single one of those things has been said twice.

Yeah..I would say 7-8 titles, and he wouldn't have gotten his ass handed to him by UT in Orlando.

I love those Michigan/Big 10 fans that try to pull other teams/conferences down to the level of mediocrity that they have achieved over the last few years. Tennessee has done a good enough job of reaching their own level of mediocrity without help from supporters of programs that can't beat an SEC team in a bowl game.

Especially when coaches cause the whole team to lay down. Last year's counts but I threw out the Fiesta Bowl.
