Im sick and tired of reading all of the CCS is leaving after NSD. CCS is a UT alum and this is his dream job. He is not going anywhere!! That is all. GO VOLS!!

If he leaves (and I do not believe he will), it will not have anything to do with him disliking his job or his commitment to UT. He is a Vol and really pushes the Vol for Life program. If he leaves it will be because he and Wilcox do not get along. There have been people who say they have had many arguments and one said Smith told Wilcox he did not know how to do his job.

He would not leave for another job or because he doesn't love UT.

Link that he is not going anywhere? There's a very good chance he leaves soon according to many in the know

I'd like to think that "UT loyalty" will keep him here, but if there's friction in the staff like most are saying, CCS very well could be gone.

Link that he has issues? Goes both ways. Just because someone heard something and posted it here does not make it true. It's pot stirring centeral here... GBO!!!

You're on a message board. What do you REALLY expect? And obviously issues about arguments between staff members is not something that's going to be published so that we can provide links.

Any chance there was a rift and that was part of reason Wilcox was considering TX but issue was resolved and thus CJW stayed?

You can choose to believe it or not, just like Wilcox was gone if it hadnt been for an eleventh hour intervention. There is a more than great chance that we dont have Chuck Smith here come spring training.

lol, there is nothing to report right now, he is still at UT at the moment. However there is a great chance he wont be here soon.

Maybe Wilcox is racist...

Has a problem with Smith and is having a harder time not using Boise State players.. I'm just sayin.

this is a joke btw.

I hope he doesnt leave...and I hate the rumors but I guess thats what gives sites like this fuel to continue on...sometimes, honestly its great comedy relief but if Chuck leaves (doubt he will or does...Chuck Smith run and leave? Seriously doubt that) The University of Tennessee will still play football on Saturdays. Go Vols, Killer Orange!

I find it hard to believe that Chuck Smith would let a conflict with Wilcox run him away from his Alma Mater. If Chuck Smith has thought this through, he knows that Wilcox will be gone before he is gone. Wilcox may be gone to a different job at the end of next season, for all we know.

I am amazed that people don't understand that coaching is a business and a profession just like any other.

Just because Chuck Smith is a UT alum doesn't mean that he's the bit fit for the program at this time. It's always a great story when an alum can come home and do great things, but that is usually the exception nowadays and not the rule.

Wilcox is a great young mind and can offer UT a lot more that Smith can at this time. I wish they could work together, but if they cannot I will support Wilcox no questions asked.

The only place i have read that CCS is leaving is here on this site by the message board busy bodies!

Have not read anything anywere else nor have i heard of it!

I just think to many are paranoid and we have some trouble makers that are not VOL fans just wanting to stir up rumors!!!
