Sorta sad a gator puts the story in the forum in which it belongs and a two year Tennessee fan VN member puts the same story in the Tennessee basketball forum...

He also said he would not leave Memphis. A week or so later he was at Kentucky. If the Bulls offer him he is gone. Derrick Rose is there. Wade a free agent.

I woud gladly give up Pearl to UK if it meant Cal leaving and Uk fans losing it for a few weeks.

I'm sure you would. :)

In all honesty, at this point I could care less. People keep posting all these articles, which means very little in the scheme of things. There will always be rumors. While I enjoy the state of the program, when he came I never expected anything long term, and I have no illusions whatsoever that it will be a happy divorce.

However, pertaining to the current situation, I do not believe Cal will be leaving UK just yet. It will take a hell of a sales pitch and a guarantee of a Rose/wade/Lebron combination of some sort. But anything is possible.

I know right? I was thinking the same thing. I already posted my comment in that thread, then here I come and find the same thread in its proper place.

Brilliant how calipari (and his agent) parlayed ANOTHER underachieving season and a well concocted story into a quick raise. Well played, I guess.

I hope uk fans are ok with it because that makes me nauseous as a college fan, period.

Not real surprised, though.

forde says this..........Also breaking: UK releases Mitch Barnhart statement saying it is restructuring Calipari's contract to keep him at UK "until he retires."

That would be quite a feat by UK.

If not this year, I see Calipari jumping to the pro's asap.

Amazing that a guy who doesn't have a NC to speak of (and FF if you want to go that way) can sneeze towards another job and increase his already ridiculous salary. Donovan, Self, Izzo and Co. must be shaking their heads.

The huge problem at Kentucky is that the fan base loves the University while the coach and players use the University. Fans can't understand why a coach would ever leave Lexington or why a kid would leave after one year. They could care less about the Wildcat tradition, it's all about the green not the blue.

kind of sounds like our football program last year...

Did Cal just get a raise based on supposed interest in an open coaching position? Some coaches get crucified for that. Cough..

Did Cal accept the job with the Bulls since we're now in the NBA forum? :haha_oh:

Just trying to get the NBA forum some more love. :)

It's playoffs prime time (unless you're a Hawks fan). Moar traffic!
