The Redneck originated in Southeastern West Virginia during the coal wars. The workers who opposed and fought against the Coal Companies wore Red scarfs or bandanas around their necks to identify one another when the shooting started.

ok, I'll provide a few options:

people who work outside a lot

those that express excitment by screaming "Boogity,boogity,boogity!"

those that live in trailer homes

those that own personal pool cues

those that have multi colored pick ups

those that own and wear Bama t-shirts

anyone that has a pair of jorts.

anyone that enjoyed the Bass Master Classic this weekend.

anyone that knew the Bass Master Classic was held this weekend.

and finally, anyone who has posted in the "WWE Forum" thread on VolNation.

Isn't that it?

Anyway, I know it's magnified for the sake of ratings and I also know there are rednecks in Minnesota but when you think CMT and Redneck Wedding you don't think Minnesota. You think Tennessee, Alabama, Mississippi, etc.

Also that one show is hosted by Tom Arnold. That's just funny to see how far he's fallen.

Just from my experiences I find a strong correlation between people that drink regular Budweiser and smoke Marbrolo Reds who can be labeled rednecks.

You know since were going to stereotype up in here.

Honestly, I agree with others in here. If you've done any traveling outside of the southern US, you understand this term can be applied almost anywhere.

Yes, I understand this but when someone turns the TV to CMT they aren't thinking about, like I said, Minnesota, North Dakota, etc.
