FAIR WEATHER FANZ...……….The FACT that it is NOT a sell out and a high demand for tickets is very telling. Chicken or Egg?? We need to get out and rock the house. Win or Lose. Show some support for once and stop the bitchin' and spouting what is wrong with the players, coaches and program. A standing room only loud and proud crowd would go a long way on changing the results.

The weather hasn’t been fair for 11 years, and even then it was only a brief parting of the clouds. The problem is when you’re in the entertainment business, such as UT Football, the market place is ultra competitive. As people find other sources of entertainment, blind loyalty dwindles. UT is finding it waited one coaching hire too late to decide it was serious about football again

Can’t believe I’m saying this, but this is one of those rare years I can afford to go to this game...and I’m not. But I’m 0-3 at Florida games. Our odds are better if I just host a watch party back home in good old Gallatin. The food will be better anyway :) GBO!

I'm originally a Sumner County boy myself. Portland checking in.

Besides half off those seats that look open are just people with season tickets who are trying to sell their tickets to make a profit .
Actually, no, the tickets on the University ticket office site are unsold and are offered at face value. Most are in the upper deck of the South end zone, which are generally "away" sections.

Too late? Did all the fans decide to not support the Vols all at once or something?

This morning 3736 seats were left unsold in south end zone, currently there are 3646

So about 20 hours ago, 98,389 tickets had been sold. Now, 98,809 have been. That's 21 tickets an hour. If that keeps up until game time 30 or so hours from now, we'll be at about 99,440. Add gate sales from folks just showing up, and we're probably right at 100,000.

I'd expect attendance announcement to be in that range: anywhere from 99,000 to 101,000.

Go Vols!

Since division play started, it has been a sellout every year.

I'd like to think the economy played a big part, but having big 65-75" Led and OLED TV's has to be considered as well.
Watching from home on a big screen certainly has its advantages

Yeah. And on Wikipedia I even went back to the years before divisional play, clicking on several of them (back to 1970) and every game then looked like a sellout or over capacity.

For all intents and purposes, it looks like this game has always sold out.

If I asked the question then yes I was serious. Just wanted to know where you got your info. Besides half off those seats that look open are just people with season tickets who are trying to sell their tickets to make a profit. That place will be filled up come Saturday night no doubt. This stuff has happened for years and we always end up with a great crowd.

Someone doesn't know how the UT ticket website works.

Their unsold because they were Florida’s tickets to begin with. Of all the open seats left how many are advertised on the University’s ticket site versus ticket master or stub hub?

I could care less about those unsold tickets. It means one thing, Florida fans don't think they can win. They aren't willing to make the drive to find out. Having been to Florida many times for games, I can tell you that Tennessee fans show up every year, we tailgate at the McD's and you can hear Rocky Top ring in Ben Hill Griffin after every Vols TD.

It's time boys and girls. Gator Hating time. Night game in the General's house time. Breaking sound records in Neyland time. I have many great memories in Neyland, and I think that our struggles from the last decade have really highlighted the ones from that period. Listening to the crowd after Jennings made Tabor look like a high school DB to take the lead in the Florida game is up there. The crowd on a warm Saturday night during the Oklahoma game is another. I truly believe that tomorrow night will be the first of the Pruitt era. Neyland is going to be rocking tomorrow, and all I see from unsold tickets are opportunities for you to join us in place of some Jort wearing lizard.

Not all of those were returned visitor's tickets. We don't give them the entire end zone of the upper bowl. Only the top half or so, IIRC. Besides, most years, as soon as those tickets were returned, they'd be snatched up by hungry UT fans. That just isn't the case this year, and it's sad.

I agree, it is sad. Our players deserve a full house supporting them. Ticket prices definitely are a big reason though I think.

I am far from a fair weather fan (die hard, actually), but we are just not as exciting of a team this year as we were even when Dooley and Butch were here. It'll come around, though. Gotta WIN.

Not very close. Upper end zone is wide open.

How the mighty have fallen. This was once the SEC game of the year.

It will take a large dip in revenue to force the needed changes in how the AD and university are run. This is the start. They can dismiss smaller crowds for cupcakes, but not for this game.
