I was solidly on the Pruitt bandwagon up until the Kentucky game. Aside from him riding JG to his own demise, what broke the last straw for me is his continued lack of urgency when we are down. He just runs out the clock at the end of quarters when we are trailing by 10+ points. Moreover, the offense just walks up to the line and is completely lackadaisical. It’s almost like the staff doesn’t care to win & is just running through the motions. It’s just sad to have people running the program that seemingly don’t care. We need a change.

Agreed, Running the game clock down is absurd, I dont understand the logic behind it. Also Chaney calling a HB Draw on 3rd and 19?? I understand the concept of surprise but with how awful the offensive line had played up until that point, you really have no choice but to throw.

This, I confess, I really dont understand either. When you have 40 secs before the half is done, you chuck it downfield and see if you can hail mary something into being. You dont just run out the clock, standing around looking confused. Sure its unlikely to get anything but not trying is GUARANTANOEED to not get you anything.

You take the unnecessary risk of doing a fake punt with 6:40 on the clock at your own 30 against a Heisman contender. We lucked out that they missed the field goal. But with 33 seconds before half you just run it once and go in at the half with zero momentum. Whats the worst case scenario (without guarantano) of heaving the ball down the field? Interception in our territory? Probably not at our 30 yard line with less than 30 seconds before half. What's the 2nd best scenario? You get down into field goal range and make it 17-10. Risk assessment is not a strong point and it's disturbing.

Pruitt has strugled mightly at the beginning and end of halves his entire tenure....

Florida scores very late in the 2nd quarter. With less than a minute to go, Pruitt knows we are just going to hand it off once and go to the locker room. In that situation, why wouldn't the Vols try to return the kickoff instead of just taking it at the 25? A KO return for a TD or a return long enough for a FG is possible. There is almost zero risk even if Velus is tackled on the 10 yard line. We can still run one play and go to half time. Why not take a chance to make a big play when there is no downside? No coaching strategy, and this is just one small, unexplainable decision.

The guy has been around football all his life, but really doesn't have a clue. I'm actually disappointed in the punt fake at that point in the game. That could have turned into an avalanche at that point. Luckily, it didn't cost us then.

It was a good call and executed perfectly, except for the drop.

This is not isolated to just the Florida game. Clock management was especially egregious during Arkansas game. Moreover, Pruitt decided not to kick a FG when up 11 on a 4th and 4. We would have had a chance to tie the game on last drive. I feel there were a lot of missed opportunities to shave the point margin in many games this year.

i think pruitt wants to get this season over with and into bowl practice. i think you'll see some staff and roster changes almost immediately after the last regular season game made by pruitt.

BYU showed last night why you play to the last second.

Didn't work out for them but at least they went down swinging.

Pruitt tends to curl up and shows his belly a lot.

99/100 OC’s will call a draw or screen pass on 3rd and 19 if the game is not on the line.

This is by far the most baffling decision he has made this season. Well, that and continuing to trot out #2 at every possible opportunity.
