I have been looking all season long for the sideline cap that a lot of the players wear. I think I see JC in it most often. It is is black with a white mesh back. Adjustable hat.

These were sold starting in the spring, they and the orange ones just like them were in the new spring practice line. There are still a few floating around.

Hamilton said last week UT did not have any thing black
officially licensed for sale. It was for the coaches only
.

I heard some boosters do not want UT acting like Georgia,
who copied South Carolina, because Spurrier was not keen
on garnet. He was wearing black at Washington, then SC
had it all of a sudden.

This seems very odd to me. The sole reason for having coaching staff and players wear nothing but a sponsor's product on the sidelines is for marketing. One would assume that with the popularity of this staff that whatever they wore on the sideline would be a hot item. Since UT gets a cut of sales (which of course why apparel is so expensive) I'm not sure they would want to make apparel visible that wasn't available for the fans.

If you happen to find a place where they are floating, please let me know! :hi:

You mentioned the 2010 line. Sounds like it will be good stuff. Will it vary much from the current line?

Dillard's at West Town had a few the last time I was there. So did Collectibles of the Game, just down the hall.

I didn't pay too much attention to the 2010 stuff when I saw the catalog. It's also hard to know what among that was made available to retailers and what of was made available that they actually ordered.

adidas has alot of stuff that they only make available to the teams. I know that really frustrates the fans, but their theory is that the athletes and staff should have some things that are "special" and not available to the public.

There are also other things, such as the rain jackets, that come with such a high cost that it isn't realistic for retailers to order them. As much as many here would like the solid black rain jacket that CLK wore for the USCe game, would you be wiling to pay $150 for it when a similiar black jacket only retails for $65? Because the stock Climaproof Rainproof jacket lists for $120, and the common add-on to add the T and make it a licensed product puts it at around $150.

A couple of years ago, adidas made an orange and black rainproof jacket available to retailers, the same one that Fulmer wore for the KY game that year (and for his last game last year) and the same one Monte has been wearing this year. It was made of Gore-Tex and because of that had a MSRP of $180. One retailer ordered six of them. That's not on adidas.

Thanks for the heads up.

I completely understand that Adidas way of holding back some stuff for that AD and teams. During my 4 years as a UT student, I worked in the AD and received my fair share (and probably more) of adidas clothing, quite a bit of which was not made available to the public.

The rain jacket would be a high ticket item for the public. I actually bought one last year because I still work in athletics, and had not found a jacket that I liked as much since having the one I did as a student.

My beef earlier revolved around some info that I had gotten from some local retailers. They made it seem like it was Adidas that held back on them and not the other way around. Guess there is another side to the story.

After an exhaustive search, my wife was able to find one of these, and we picked it up in Memphis this weekend. The only problem... it's an XL and too big. I still have the tags on it. If anyone has/can get a L or M I will be glad to trade! Help a VOL out!

I think this one is sweet looking, but it's a tad bit pricey.
