I'm going to have to listen to the archives to re-catch that part on Tomlin/Berry. He said Berry's a definite first rounder and that Tomlin has discussed & watched film on him, them it seemed like Kiffin mumbled something about Tomlin NOT talking about him, LOL.

Good job utmba...You the man!

Thanks utmba93 for keeping us update.

thanks utmba, great job keeping us informed.

Thanks UTMBA !!! Very grateful for your effort and consideration

You're welcome. :hi:

Tony has a great show. Nice to hear CLK's take on some of the stuff we're talking about.

I don't think Scroggins is about to sign or that anything big is going to happen anytime soon on recruiting. It does seem like CLK hinted at those events earlier this year when he was aware of them. He may be a little disappointed about that, but the more he talked, the more his energy level started to rise.

He's a champion! We'll be fine.

Yes, I was hoping that Basilio would ask him something more direct such as "How's the recruiting for a QB coming along?" Unfortunately, this did not occur. Maybe CLK asked him not to ask about it.

Tony asked him if he would play Berry on offense to get him some heisman hype.

Kiffin said he doesn't plan on him taking any snaps in practice on offense. He wants him to pick up the new D and be as good as possible on D.

This is what I have thought all along, but it sounds like he pretty much confirmed Berry will not be lining up at wr this year, or at least will not be practicing at the postition and they are not planning on him playing there.

I won't speak for anybody else. But when Kiffin talked about the QB taking the field and making decisions and managing the game and surprising them (I don't remember exactly how he worded it) and how he came through.....it just reminded me that I've not seen that in Crompton at all. Crompton is so good in practice they say....but he chokes come game time. That's just my thoughts on it. I'm willing to be convinced otherwise. Please!!!

He just comes out and says things like "we need a bunch of things," "I'm not here to make friends" and "sometimes (in the NFL) you have to cover your ass." His boldness and actual personality are a fresh change.

This is the best interview he's given since he was hired. His thoughts on the differences in the pros and colleges are worth it alone.

Everyone talks about how Crompton choked last year, and I agree that his performance left a lot to be desired...but I also remember the kid that came in off the bench the year before and almost beat LSU. I think our offensive scheme last year just did not work for our players...another year with Coach Cutcliffe and I think he would have been a completely different QB. Maybe I'm being too optimistic....

Alright, I can go with that line of thinking for a while. Thanks!!

tb: less lighter note...
coach smith? (that's lighter Tony?)

clk:
wanted to get to another level. he's here to win games. to win championships. decisions like that are very easy.

I believe when he says it's a less lighter note he means it's a heavier note.

that pretty well reflects our thinking on crompton also. first heard about him as a high school player working out with heath schuler.had high hopes for that big kid,he seemed tough as a pine knot at times.willing to see what he can do to start this year...got to rely on coaches to put the best on the field.
