CLK Knows What He's Doing

Am I the only one that thinks he was letting JC fling it around to see what exact plays he could complete? I think he knew that we could run it down Ohio's throat in the 2nd half and so he let JC have at it in the 1st. I think our D had a natural letdown after the UF game, but I fully expect Monte to show up next week. I actually believe that we had the plainsmen their first loss and hold them under 17 pts.

That is exactly what I was thinking what I thought he'd do in this game which is why I would never picked this game.

Kiffin had no doubt we could win this game so he was doing a couple of things:
1. Testing plays to see how players responded and what could be successful with corrections and which ones to put away.

2. Simply getting reps for the passing game as the next four games will be much more grinding ground oriented games.

Kiffin always seems to be working several angles at once...win, recruit, development of team. I'd guess then next four games he'll back off the development and focus on how to win but will do so in a way that maximizes recruitment.

He knew he could open it up an get away with it in this game. He was hoping to narrow the WR rotation down to 4-5 solid guys to get more consistency in timing routes. That didn't happen since somebody would make a good play and the run a bad route or drop a ball.

This week I expect more of the Fla game plan with ball control to keep the Auburn Offense off the field as much as possible. It is not an offense you want to get in a rhythm. However, we will throw more than the Florida game because their secondary is not as strong as Florida or UCLA. It should be alot of run, play action, screens. i expect a 70/30 run/pass ratio

Georgia will probably be 50/50 pass run ratio because we match up well against their offense and can take some chances.

I also think that we'll not see Gerald Jones much. I like Jones, but it seems like he and Crompton do not have the timing that Crompton and Moore/Warren seem to have.

Crompton and Warren seem to have that 10 yard fade route down. That was one of the few perfectly timed, beautiful passes that Crompton threw.

No way you hold them under 17 Rex.....

No way they are on par with UF. Only give up 23 in that one on the road. Its possible, not saying it will happen, but they have not faced a good D yet. They got it to do.

Another thing, what if the passing game begins to click? Limiting the plays at first and then adding particular plays for each game. That along with the productive run game might produce a very hot offense by the end of the season.

I bet Auburn will not send a sellout blitz with BB in the backfield. He is too fast for a LB to cover.

I see all I need to given the talent level right now. There isn't the stupid drive killing penalties. This is a more disciplined team than last year and that is with a lot of youth playing and contributing. Kiffin's brashness may rub some the wrong way but I think the days of underachieving is over. The staff obviously can recruit and it looks like develop talent, they just need a few years to get us back to the top of the SEC.

regardless of what packages crompton can and cant run, we will not move the ball against the likes of sec defenses with this handicap of a quarterback
