Sadly, he may know more about how the powers-that-be think than we want to admit, although I hope not.
It would just show more of what we already know. That the powers that be are just a bunch of phil homers. Its great to respect a man for what he has done and the vol he is. Its another thing to let that same man run your football program into the ground.

no he really doesn't. Read some of his other articles (usually about 2 weeks after it's a hot topic) and you'll see.

Climer will be the last one to say a change will be made and the first to write how much it was needed after the deed is done. He just wants the exposure either way.

On a seperate note, Hymans was on the radio this morning in Nashville repeating that Fulmer has to win the Bama game. His source being a prominent booster told him that regardless of how the team plays, at the end of the game, Fulmer needs to be winning. Anything less and it was implied that Fulmer would most likely be gone at the end of the year.

I'am beginning to agree with those that say the only way phil will ever leave is on a stretcher.

I'll say it again. Fulmer will be gone at season's end. He will probably make the announcement next week or 2. He just didn't want to do it this week because this is the Beat Bama week and also the celebration of the 98 NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP team. He knows this is not about him so he acted with class and postponed shifting the focus to him. Wait and see.

Climer seems pretty certain that they'll give Phil another year, but if you read the article you can see that its just speculation on his part. He mentions again the economic downturn as a reason to keep Phil, but it sure didnt stop Clemson.

Big risk giving phil another year, if it starts out anything like this year. Neyland stadium would be a ghost town by midseason. Effectively cutting their own throats.

Exactly, Nobody is going to support a team where you can't believe in the coaching staff...Tickets are not cheap anymore.

Climer's an idiot that works for a Vandy homer paper. He has about as much of a clue as the average poster here on VN.

Let's not get carried away now.

We are talking about a paper that can't even get our TV Times right and let the general public know that a game is on PPV or not. Yeah, they are that bad when it comes to UT. I would compare Climer to the faildozer. Comes in at certain times and is effective, but for the rest of the time it would be better just to sit back and take it easy.

There is not a single person who reads the tennessean who likes climer! He never has anything positive to say. In fact if i can remember correctly he found a way to write something negative about the vols national chapionship the day after they won!

Climer is a class A tool. I have met him a few times and he is just as big of a dumb*** in person as he seems in his colums. The Tennessean is a rag with the worst sports reporters in the state.

He isn't an idiot, and he isn't a Vandy homer, either. He also isn't much of a writer, IMO. His opinion is flexible to whatever he thinks will get his column read by the most eyes. It is designed to piss people off or begin a rally cry or whatever it takes to get somebody to read what he has written without actually noticing that he is an echo, not a voice.

The sad state of affairs is Fulmer should be gone regardless of if he wins this weekend.

Let me get this straight. First you bash Climer for his opinion that Fulmer isn't going anywhere after the season and then you turn around and say you don't think he is either? If Climer is a "goof ball" on Phil's payroll what does that make you?

Woah, now. The faildozer is a key contributer to these boards. Let's not throw him in with this idiot.

I don't think phil is going to willingly leave. I think he will have to be forced out or bought out. If anyone had any sense up there he'd be fired.

I bash climer because he sucks.
