Maybe because he has his own radio show, has written 2 excellent books, hates UK and is an attorney? I'd say, with that cred, he's earned his right to run his mouth...

He's pretty good. He's definitely better than that idiot Plaster and his sidekick Donnick that act like they are god's gift to Sports Talk in Nashville. I've often if another sports station had the right format, they could compete with them. If 106.7 The Fan had gotten UT to sign on to broadcast their games and gone more that direction, they could have competed.
He is the biggest UT homer out there and I love it, from the comments he makes I know he is on this board alot. Also anyone else hear the caller who said UK is the best basketball team ever to play in the ncaa, and that ANY UK team could beat any NBA team, I know it was kind of a joke on the stereo type of UK fans but all Clay would say is "you right" "yep" he's Right". Had me busting up.
I really enjoyed his first book. Also, I apperciate the fact he is a die hard Vol fan. However, "On Rocky Top" was not as good as I had hoped. To me, it seemed like something was missing.
I think what he says is pretty well dead on. Cal is a cheat, example UMass & Memphis. Plus his books are well written, and any true Vol fan can identify with them.
Dude! Clay is an attorney, they all do it. As it happens to be March, check out Jay "Backstroke" Bilas on ESPN. He has mastered the art of being a pompous prick while being wrong about almost everything. He too is a lawyer here in Charlotte. At least Clay Travis chooses a position and sticks with it. Bilas waits until he is sure he is wrong, then changes his stance while blaming coaches, players, and anyone else he can hold liable... :ermm:
