It seems the boosters in charge have enough $ to maintain control. If you donate big money and see other boosters destroying the program, what do you do? You stop donating or just accept it because program is sold to highest bidder. Why would you bother? These people have to get something for donating that makes it worth their wild, what is that exactly? Occasionally being in same room as former players? Not worth it to me but I’m not donating any amount they care about. I spend as little on this program as possible.

I remember YEARS ago that he interviewed Jerry Lawler on 3HL, and I’ve seen Clay’s heel act for what it is ever since.

Great entertainment, but that’s just what it is.

You articulated it better than I did. Everything you said is spot on. He sued an airline for not letting his kids on when they had lice and that got laughed out of court, which is ironic because he has a JD.

Not sure about that. He always talks about being a millionaire. It’s like your friend in high school or college claiming he is hooking up w/ a lot of girls. When in fact, he hasn’t been out with a girl.

He could maybe give a one time gift of a million or 2. But not 2-3 per year.

He probably has a enough to be in the upper echelon of boosters. Not to be in-the very upper (influential) group. But can’t do it because he is a national sports figure syndicated all over the country does gambling picks on his show and a nationwide TV show.

Clay Travis supposedly knew of many experienced and well qualified candidates who were reaching out to express interest in the UT job. He about guarenteed Vol fans they would be estactic with whoever the result was as our next football coach. I guess he thought there was no way for us to flub it up.

Instead, White just signs his own guy Huepel. Im sure if we knew all Travis knows (and not just heresy, but facts) then I'm sure we would be livid too.

Plus, He knows Vol fans rampantly support their team. Combine those fans with the dumpster fire that has been going on, he gets an even wider audience.

He’s a lot like a shock jock. Just says a bunch of really arrogant bizarre things. He said multiple head coaches called him telling him they want the job. I almost felt little dumber for even hearing him say that. That’s literally one of the most ridiculous things I’ve ever heard. Simple put...he’s full of $hit. No coaches called him to tell him they want the job obviously. That’s not how it works. Lol. If you ha e questions as to what a Moran the guy is go watch the clip where he’s in cnn talking about some sports scandal or something and he says to the female host all he trust fully in this like is boobs and beer. When she called him out he is no clever come back or anything. The dude is weird and creepy. That being said he kinda found lightning in a bottle. He got himself on television and the weird bizarre/totally full of $hit persona cam actually work. That’s basically what every shock jock is. Hell...that’s what Donald trump is. A reality tv guy that knows very little about anything but just tells you a ton of lies to your face. Those 2 dudes are really similar.
Anyway, I’d disregard anything clay says. Amd while I’m sure he makes decent money...he’s no where close to as wealthy as he’d like you to believe he is.
This hire could actually be really good. Regardless of what clay or anyone else says.
