This booster is obviously no fan of Currie, prior to all of this recent failure even, because it sounds as if the email is from shortly after he was hired.

He also goes off on the Haslams throughout the entire thing.

So Currie is wanting to hire a NC St coach that the fans don't like there anyways. Are you serious. If it is so then Currie needs to be fired.

It's not at all remarkable that it's not only politicians that abuse public entities to line their own, very greedy pockets. Haslam's people are running this university, and it's these same folks who're ruining our UT. Those pundits who're lambasting UT's fan base (as in ESPN), have neglected to include Haslam and his outsiders' personal power moves as at least one of the negative factors in this cluster flub that's making our school the laughing-stock of college athletics. As I stated earlier today, we need some of our more respected alumnus (CPF, Peyton, et al) to step up and lead where there is no leadership. The fact that Kiffin and Tee aren't even being considered, that Currie's attempts to keep his job by offering Brohm $$$ the administration could afford, then get nixed afterward, shows that the powers-that-be aren't as interested in UT athletics nearly as much as they are in their personal monetary bottom lines. Fahr 'em all!

Can someone transcribe? Or at least summarize? I'm at work.

1. He'd hire Kiffin today. Kiffin would definitely come. Thinks Kiffin would tear up SEC now.
2. Booster letter was one written in reply to Jon Currie inquiry on what he could to do make the Booster happy. This was written prior to start of season it sounded. Booster told Currie that he was jerk, and the only thing he could do for Booster was not screw up his tickets or parking. He hated Currie and the Haslam's for ramming Currie's hire down everyone's throat. He would only donate the amount he was obligated to in order to maintain his benefits, and not one penny more while Currie and the Haslam's were around. Stated Currie was the backstabber who ran off Phil and the Booster hates him for that too.
3. Sports Illustrated has letter too and will cite it in a story on the whole crazy hire for next issue. Story will not just be a hit piece on Tennessee fans.
4. Stated the problem is definitely Haslam's. They aren't competent, and won't listen to anyone else.
5. There is no shortage of good coaches who would come here. Has heard it directly from Coaches who have contacted him telling him he would come, but Tennessee never bothered to contact him. Says big names everyone knows and wouldn't have to Google. Says NFL coaches would be interested if we could hang on until end of NFL season for money they know UT could pay.
6. Stated everything he has been saying is true. If we knew he sources we would believe him.

EDIT: Clarity.

I simply will not understand anything anymore if Currie still has his job when the sun rises

Which makes me think that's a pre-existing condition.

Sorry, but you threw it right down the middle of the strike zone at 40 mph. :eek:lol:

Thanks mate!

Forgot to mention, he thought Brohm and Grudny would have been good hires. Should have gone to them prior to Schiano who should have never been interviewed. Same with Doreem - never interviewed. I don't care if I can't spell his name correctly, and hope I don't have to figure it out.

EDIT: Clarified that the he though Doreem should not have even been interviewed.

Haslam is and has always been a major cancer. Bad enough the big boosters run the program since it's always about the money. Worse when the biggest booster is a complete imbecile. Currie as we all know is just the puppet collecting his paycheck. And to top it off we have to now run everything past Peyton and Davenport has to sign off on it.

This should be a case study in how not to run an athletic dept. Keystone Cops meets the Three Stooges.

Clay Travis is a “like” whore exploiting our mess to pump his ego. He needs a forehead punch.

Think what you want of him. I would ask you though, what wrong information has he offered at this point?

Even the Davenport blocked hire thing he was accused of lying about for likes ended up being either 100% true, or true with it just being DiPietrio who did not sign off on it.

Whether you like him or not, he has been a highly credible and accurate source of information since this started.
