Spot on right here. Clay is a self promoter who will use the University to climb the ladder. According to his books he reads the boards. So to you Clay: We all hate you. You are no Vol. Vandy punk. And BTW no one us jealous of you like you keep telling people. I would rather be a poor upstanding Guy then be rich trash.

I would take the NCAA penalties if it meant Kiffin and his crew got fired at USC. I just would like to see the press conference

Ah, therein lies the danger of getting your 'facts' from Vol message boards. Never happened...except in the minds of the those who first reported the myth at VolQuest.

The myth was started on Jan 23, 2010 during the NCAA investigation. The NCAA investigation was concluded and sanctions announced June 11, 2010.

Please explain why the NCAA didn't include that violation with the others if it was true? Could it be the NCAA was showing preferential treatment towards USC... Or the incident never occurred?

No clue, was Michigan cited for failure to monitor with the Rich Rod practices? I feel like there has been another case recently. Problem is you have to factor in the baseball and basketball infractions, and the fact that the NCAA is inconsistent.

So, your contention is that it didn't occur, and tv stations and publications around the country ran with it. You're saying it was made up. I GUESS that could be. I have no idea what the NCAA knows, or if USC reported, however I'd suggest it wouldn't be the first time the NCAA didn't have enough evidence to support a finding. Also Lane was rather quick with his denials when he was here, maybe there's one out there pertaining to this incident, I just haven't seen it as I don't follow west coast football.:hi:

Don't think there was a violation, however such a violation would not be included, anyway, in the NCAA report because that investigation did not extend past the 2009 recruiting season at USC.

Never happened. All the lazy media outlets simply referenced the following regurgitation like Clay Travis did in this twitter posting:

Ain't it a great country when you can just make something up and post it on the Internet, only to sit back and watch the feeding frenzy occur when they WANT it to be true?

In this day and age of cell phone cameras, not only was no picture of the limo or recruit produced, but no name of a recruit was even mentioned.

Of course, nobody from a Tennessee related publication would ever dare impugn their credibility by purposely making something up about Lane Kiffin. Nah, couldn't happen.

If VolQuest had any facts to back their allegations up, someone from their publication could have simply contacted the NCAA to report the infraction.

I can assure you that you can scour the Internet and every NCAA publication imaginable, and not find any mention of USC or Kiffin being given a secondary violation for an incident that never occurred.

Not sure where you're getting your information from, but it not only directly contradicts the NCAA bylaws, but it contradicts the reality of the situation.

During an ongoing investigation, the NCAA was clear they were free to investigate any new allegations raised.

Matter of fact, Joe McKnight was alleged to have received an improper benefit when driving his girlfriends SUV. He was even held out of the bowl game.

That was at the end of December, 2009. Kiffin was hired in early January, 2010. Why would the NCAA investigate Joe McKnight, and not an allegation against the new coach for an alleged infraction that occurred not even two weeks after the allegations against McKnight became public?

McKnight was cleared, and since no secondary violations have been levied to this day against USC in regards to the allegations made by VolQuest, it's reasonable to assume no violations ever occurred.

After all, the NCAA had no reason whatsoever to show preferential treatment towards USC for a violation involving their new coach, if the incident ever occurred.

Not true. Boosters generally love UT and tolerate "Summer's Eve" Hamilton. There would be no tears shed among the vast majority of boosters if he were to be shown the exit door. I would not only not cry if he were replaced, I would celebrate! He needs to go.
