Clay Travis on sporting new radio just said he predicts lane kiffin will be fired within the next week for the sanctions comeing against him along with the already punishments... And also says tenn football team might only get a secondary violation.... Still on now, some one make a thread and I'll update when he's done

He seriously said "within the next week"? He seriously thinks that Lane Kiffin, who just inked a top 5 class for a team on serious probation, is going to be fired out of the blue by USC for stuff that he's alleged to have done at another school? He can't be that stupid.

Have you not listened to anything Pat Haden has said? Did you not notice him hiring Kevin O'Niell?

Kiffy's on thin ice as it is. With his reckless attitude it was only a matter of time. If C'lay is right, I don't see how CLK survives.

Travis is a tool. I would wager everything I own that Kiffin will still be employed by USC on Valentine's Day.

Haden is a smart guy. They have talent, despite the impending sanctions. What they don't have is a good football coach. This is the perfect time to get one.

This ^

To bet LK may still be there by Valentines Day may be a safe bet.But I dont care how good his recruiting class was USC football is a whole lot bigger than Lane Kiffen thinks he is and thats pretty big.LK being the TOOL that he is thinks all publicity is good publicity.I seriously doubt Pat Hayden has that same view of continued negative publicity.USC is a recruiting magnet without LK thats for darn sure.A lot of these kids have never seen the outside world and can't wait to get away from home. Not only that the state itself is rich with talent and they go for the tradition. At this point I think KARMA has a date with LANE KIFFEN because he is not some mystical college football coach.I dont know why so many people are enamoured with this self absorbed shat for a record head coach.I mean cmon what has this DBAG really done other than sell a dream to a bunch of talented teens. Its not to hard to sell a dream to a kid that is talented and knows in his heart that given the right stage he can make his own dreams come true.

And folks find problems with the SEC... Markeith Ambles clearly deserves a Trogan education. Oh how I missed his performance on NSD eve.

Lk really made a good example out of Markeefy by letting him back on the team.I'm glad he went to USuC.Those two can fight over who can make the most negative impact on the program......

He has too much confidence in Pat Haden to make the smart move. That said, if someone like Fisher was game to go to his alma mater, boosters would have a contract-free basis to can Kiffin if he was sanctioned by the NCAA, and there'd be a chance (1-in-10) he'd be canned. Kiffin likely has another year to make good.

-Expects Kiffin to get fired from USC, depending on how serious Pat Haden actually is in cleaning that place up.

To the best of my knowledge, Kiffin hasn't even picked up one secondary violation while at USC for over a year now.

Doesn't "that place" have to be dirty before it requires a cleaning? Clay probably should have been a little more intellectually honest and claim that he "hopes Kiffin get fired"

On this point Travis said that penalities will definitely be following Kiffin-most likely restricting his contact with recruits

If Clay truly did say that, he directly contradicts the expert HE quoted regarding this matter in his own article.

Here's the snippet taken directly from Clay's article.

A prominent NCAA attorney, Mark Jones, chair of the law firm Ice Miller's collegiate sports practice, said that "failure to monitor allegations are almost always classified as a major violation," but that punishments for failure to monitor can vary significantly based upon the NCAA's opinion of the severity of those violations.

Jones also stated that situations where coaches commit a violation and then move on to another school and receive punishment are "not the norm, but in the past twenty-five years that has happened in a number of cases."

Clay appears to be taking the lawyerly side of himself a bit too serious by naming himself as the judge, jury, and executioner... Before the committee on infractions even hears the case accumulated by NCAA investigators.

Have you not listened to anything Pat Haden has said? Did you not notice him hiring Kevin O'Niell?

Pretty hard for Pat Haden to hire Kevin O'Neill as the basketball coach on June 21, 2009, when Pat hadn't been hired to be the athletic director at USC until August, 2010.

Here's a snippet taken from an ESPN article the day O'Neill was hired.

O'Neill told ESPN.com's Andy Katz on Saturday afternoon that he interviewed for the job Friday morning in Los Angeles and accepted the offer Friday night. O'Neill said he dealt with no one but USC athletic director Mike Garrett.

USC Trojans hire Kevin O'Neill as men's basketball coach - ESPNa

If C'lay is right, I don't see how CLK survives

If Clay is wrong, I don't see how his credibility survives.

Matter-of-fact, I would be willing to wager a month of my salary against a month of Clay's salary that Kiffin will be coaching USC next year.

Guarantee you that's a bet he wouldn't put his money behind his mouth on.

Knoxville is a fishbowl . The sports media out there could care less about USC. He didn't get caught. If he has been on his best behavior it is because he knows he is being watched. Sound familiar moms and dads?

Are you seriously going to claim with a straight face that Tennessee is under a more heightened scrutiny than USC?

He didn't get caught.

Guilty until proven innocent may fly in Knoxville, but the last time I checked, we do things a little bit differently throughout the rest of the country.

Yahoo thinks you're funny, as does Reggie.

If he has been on his best behavior it is because he knows he is being watched.

Very true. However, that still doesn't address my point of why would Pat Haden feel the need to clean house if he hasn't done anything at USC... Regardless of his motivation for avoiding trouble?

The only way I could see him being fired at this point is if the NCAA revoked his ability to recruit off-campus, or contact recruits by telephone.

He couldn't survive that, nor should he.

The NCAA does not follow the judicial system in that one is innocent until proven guilty. If they get any allegations of impropriety, they assume it's true and it is up the accused to prove their innocence. If you read the 80+ page USC ruling, Bush & his family couldn't or wouldn't provide bank records to refute the allegations made. I've heard that Newton's father and family turned over all personal and church financial records, which if true, might explain why he was cleared as eligible so quickly.

They should have checked under Cecil's mattress. He is smarter than to leave a paper or electronic trail IMO.

Sorry for not updating the rest of his convo, I was at work lol... But what clay Travis was saying is that with USCs current AD (who didn't hire kiffen) was brought in to the school to clean up the program and now that lane kiffen is now gonna be punished on top of there already punishment (that lane kiffen was part of) that kiffen is probly gonna be gone because the new AD wants to make things better at USC... Just thought everyone would want to know... And on another note he also said that Bruce pearl would not go anywhere, that he is one of the 5 best coaches in he country and that what he has done with this program is amazing... He said that if any other coach had got in this trouble at tenn they would have been gone... But Travis also reiterated, that Bruce pearl didn't do anything really ba other than lie, that I he told the truth about the jrs at his house it wouldn't have been as bad...

Last thought on lane kiffen... He said that lane kiffen is a good recruiter, but with the hostesses and stuff that he doesn't know exactly what lane kiffen uses to recruit... And that lane kiffens biggest recruiting job will be over the next week in recruiting His own job lol

Sorry if this is not interesting just thought I'd keep the people informed a bit lol

Clay Travis doesn't deserve access to UT anymore. The fact that he has a press pass is ridiculous. After hearing the epic failure of his at the Fisher press conference, he doesn't even deserve to cover division 2 women's basketball at this point. I was an avid listener of 3HL, but I won't even listen to 1045, until they take him COMPLETELY off the station. He needs to stop proclaiming his fandom, when his douchebag aura completely contradicts it.

Actually, I believe dum-dum picked up his first violation at Condom U a mere 10 days after being hired. Something to do with a Limo and recruits IIRC.

Carry on.
