Clay Travis Destroys Dooley

He's right. Kiffin had less offensive weapons to work with and he still took us to a 7 win season and a bowl game. The only thing I've enjoyed watching this year is the improvement of the oline

He also had Dan Williams,Eric Berry, Monterio Hardesty, Bryce Brown, and a senior filled OL (albiet not the best talent, but experience) Go be a f------ USC fan ****ehead!

Julio Jones is lighting us up and on one play in the redzone noone covers him. Wasted a timeout to correct. Can someone please explain why this has not been corrected?
I like Dooley . I want him to succeed. I knew this would be a tough year. Why in the hell does this staff keep giving ammunition to the naysayers?

So many fair-weather fans...they climb on the band wagon when we win & bash when they lose. Lots of bammer & gator fans just like 'em. Irrelevant, just like Clay (aiken) Travis.

Fairweather fans just quit caring about the program when it is down. Being dissatisfied with the current state of affairs doesn't make anyone a fairweather fan.

Which offensive and defensive line would you like them to play in the second half? Should we put our freshmen in? OH, that's right, those were the starters. The cupboard is bare.

You go to war with the army you have. I understand our situation. I still think we shouldn't be setting records for blowouts in Neyland.

Tennessee football is at rock bottom right now, and it was going to be no matter who was the coach this year. I think people or undervaluing the fact that we are 2-5 and maybe the worst team in the SEC not only record wise but also talent wise at this point but we are still in the top 25 in recruiting. We are still in on some good players as well and I do think at this point Tennessee is definitely a harder sell then we fans think it is. To say that these coaches couldn't recruit their own mothers is moronic and totally untrue. Who knows if Dooley is the right guy at this point, but to fire him at this point would bury UT football in a grave I'm not sure we could get out of for a long long time. Dooley has to be given time to at least graduate a class and get our numbers back up, anyone who knows anything about college football understands this. If by then he hasn't got it done, we need a new head man.

that is just not going to happen. He has next year and if signficant improvement isn't seen he is GONE. If we give the guy 5 years the program will be so far in the abyss we will never dig out. Next year Hamilton and Dooley can go on tour and talk about character.

We may be top 25 nationally, but we are currently 9th/10th in the SEC.

Excuses suck, and in general, are annoying to listen to. However, they are sometimes actually based in reality. Dooley keeps pointing out deficiencies in the team because they actually are deficiencies. And as far as the recruiting class being ranked 10th, that would be a great argument if today were the day after NSD.

Ah, WTH. UT FB is giving me a headache. That's my excuse.

Okay well I'd really like to see some of you guys trying your best to coach these players, especially when some of our best are out. Also, Dooley is having to rely alot on freshmen and junior college transfers. Dooley is trying his best to rebuild this program, he doesn't want to lose either. Get over it people, Alabama is now a very dominant force and it's gonna be hard for any team in the country to beat them. We cannot afford to fire Dooley anyways. That would cause a ton more controversy and the big thing we need right now is stability. Derek Dooley is OUR coach, support him or shut up

Does this mean we are not allowed to question anything he does or says? Now I see a little better what he was talking about with this German thing.

maybe clay is trying to enlarge his reading audience sort of like finebaum, by trashing ut. bammers love that kind of stuff. all our rivals do. i think a lot of vol fans are sick of reading about ut since everything in the media is so negative so maybe clay's hits are down.

espn hates us.

clay travis hates us. :eek:lol:

This is sort of like entering a Yugo in the Daytona 500 and then pretending to be surprised halfway through the race when you're 5 laps down . . . Where you knew you'd be in the first place.

No matter the circumstances, even if we were on double-secret probation, we should never be behind Ole Miss, miss st, Arky, SoCar, or Aubie in recruiting. Never.

This was really brave and cutting edge of Travis. What's his solution, 4th coaching staff in 4 years? Did he not look at our roster situation before the start of the year? Does he have some outsized expectation for this team this year?

Travis needs to shut up and let this team and this year play out and quit pile jumping.

Huh? Wade is far more like Fulmer doing less with more. Dooley is doing less with less. How about Dooley is an awful reincarnation of Ron Zook?

Stupid analogy, Zook had great talent and left Myer with a championship roster to work with. Zook was just not a very good HC. We don't know enough about Dooley yet to make that assessment.

This whole idea cracks me up. Vandy Law degree, author of 3 books, writer for fanhouse and co-host of a radio show and he's in his early thirties. I'd be willing to say that he is more successful than 99% of the posters on here. Whether you agree with what he says or not, don't act like you wouldn't switch jobs with him in a heartbeat.

I dont want his job. I dont want to write books and be on the radio. I consider my life a success regardless of how many degrees I have , host jobs I have and books I have written. He creates controversy and that is why he is on the air. But not everyone wants to be the Mark Howard "Loud Mouth" of the Midday sports show in Nashville.
