Clay Helton: Tee is ready to be HC

I wouldnt expect him to say anything other than that. Tee isn't ready for a job like this IMO and hopefully cooler heads will prevail and not make a hire like this over racial pressure.

Bout the same resume Phil had when he stepped in as interim. Could work with great staff in place.

Like I said in another thread. The last time Tennessee hired a head coach that was a former UT player, and an offensive coordinator, it worked out pretty well in their favor.

I don't think people understand that at this point it's either hire a Google coach or hire a VFL. Tee Martin is what we need right now that is a realistic option.

Hiring Tee as Head coach would be a huge mistake...I love the guy to death but he is just not ready and would love him to be the man one day but let him get some more experience running a program before throwing him into the SEC...He'll fail horribly and ruin his legacy here...I don't want to see that happen.

What legacy does he have here? People act as if he's done nothing. PM is more revered than Tee.

Who outside of haynesworth is applying racial pressure?

The last time Tee was offered a position at UT, he declined it due to the fact that his wife has a musical career going. He felt he was in the right environment for his family. Will that change? Would like to see Tee on the hill as a coordinator.

Clay Helton is an idiot. He knows less about what makes a coach ready than my 3 month old granddaughter and those that listen to his drivel only stoop to his extremely low IQ

Kirby multiple national titles as DC
Bob Stoops national title as DC
Jimbo national title as OC
Shaw took over what Harbaugh built and has done a good job maintaining
Franklin - is the only one that might be comparable to Tee.

Dabo Swinney
Chip Kelly

I can keep finding guys that fit. That is what half of the NFL coaches are also.

this just means if he is hired, you're gonna assume the only reason is because of race.

No one on this board knows if Tee is ready or not. Everyone has to come to grips with we’re not getting a big time head coach
