We are going to have to agree to disagree. I respect your opinion about Dave, but I am entitled to my own. His offense looks like those of UT Martin and Murray State, good at minor levels but nothing to write home about at the SEC level. I do think he will be successful at a Richmond type school for a long period of time however. But, I don't see anyone giving this man a call in the near future.1. Yes.
2. Because BYU exposed the same weakness we attempted to to the tune of over 50 points.
3. He will be successful in D-1 if he chooses that path. Scott came because Fulmer allowed it, they weren't a package deal it was a professional courtesy that worked out well for recruiting but not so well on the field.
4. Erik Ainge + Quick Throws = An offense that looks much better than it is if we have an incompetent QB in there. Ainge didn't have all day to throw last year either. He wasn't sacked much, but he was pressured quite a bit.
Cindys is still open, I hunted with the "cindy's" son last weekend. Good little place to eat.
How do you know about Cindys?
Do you blame him for not giving up control to Clawson? Why in the world would you give someone full control, who calls for over 40 passing plays against a pathetic UCLA team that we could have rushed for 300 yards against?
The guy belongs in DII, I say we put him on a rail and send him back.....BTW, he brough Scott with him, would that mean that he is on him?
Another thing, the o-line was fine last year, he came in flipped the tackles and noone bought into his trick pony high school offense. The guy was a bust from day one.
Further more had Fulmer allowed Clawson to do his job I am sure the results would have been different!
I will add this it some times take more than one season to install an offense. But a lot of you don't believe that.
I disagree here. It doesn't always take a year to get the offense installed. Even if it does, there's been zero progress from UCLA to Wyoming. In fact, we may have gone backwards.
As for Clawson doing his job, I just don't see how he could have done that much better regardless of what Fulmer did. The QB play is the worst in the SEC. The OL is pathetic. Those two factors neutralize our (relative) strengths: RB and WR. Maybe Clawson could have found a way to beat Auburn and Wyoming, but we'd still be a crappy team.
Vindicating the offensive coordinator of the worst offense in school history is foolish.Yes, installing his offense would have been a nice start. Kpt even the papers are now saying Fulmer promised Clawson things that weren't delivered. They're saying the offense is no where near the same as the spring. Maybe Fulmer got nervous about what he saw. It's his right to yank it but to blame it on DC is foolish.
Show me proof that Clawson isnt calling the plays....This is his offense, he is the coordinator and the qb coach and he failed miserably. Get over it.Here's something people might find interesting:
Clawson at Richmond (in total control of his situation) his team was ranked #67 in the final Sagarin rankings last season in all of Division I. He left the program in great shape and it continues to be ranked in the 60's currently.
This season (with Clawson not in control of his situation) Tennessee is currently ranked #87 in all of Division I.
He did a great job there, has twice been D1-AA (or whatever its called now) National Coach of the Year at 2 different schools. He will land on his feet and we will one day regret it didn't work out here for him. Hopefully it won't come back to haunt us.
