He'll be a head coach and win a lot of games within the next 5 years.
I posted in another thread a remark by Randy Sanders; "If CPF is wearing a headset, there IS NO offensive coordinator." My guess is Clawson was pretty much neutralized here. He succeeded everywhere else, if given a chance, and he will get one, he'll do OK. I'm with Justin on this one.

Well if that's the case he single handedly coached the NC team as well as all the other winning seasons Cut was here. sounds like sour grapes to me. Why not ask a coach that left here under his own volition who called the plays?

Running wide open after the qb is on his back or running for his life, maybe. Honestly, how many times has the reciever been running wide open? Stocker had one bad game. Rogers is the drop master, Taylor is vying for his title, Moore has one route (albeit a good one), and Briscoe likes to run backwards (and no I don't think he got lousy in one year). I have no problems with GJ.

Wrong, I was at the game Sat. and there were many times recievers were wide open. The crowd around me would be screaming at Crompton to throw to the open guy, then he would sail it over the head of a covered man. Point is, on the last 2 drives, there was there was plenty of chances to win the game and JC couldn't get it to wide open recievers.

Sounds like a great opportunity for Coach Clawson. I think he has a lot of talent and will do great things.
Unfortunately, UT just wan't a great fit for him.

I think I've found a way you guys might get this.

Al Davis= Phil Fulmer
Lane Kiffen= Dave Clawson

Huh? Anything moving around up there? Wheels a turnin'? Bells? Whistles?

Full Control >>>> Partial/Little Control.

That's what doomed Clawson. First mistake, Fulmer telling Clawson that Crompton was going to be the starter after Clawson told Fulmer that Crompton could run his offense.

I read the other day (maybe Climer) that don't throw all this on Clawson. Nothing we don't suspect but Fulmer made promises that wasn't kept. As I've said before we've had Cut twice, Sanders and now Clawson and it stills looks like "Fulmer Ball".

Well said.

I have said before that we haven't seen Clawson's offense. Again, I know I have seen it.

Had the man been allowed to do his job I can guarantee the offense this year would have been a hell of a lot better than it is!

If Fulmer would have let Clawson run his on offense it might have worked, but Fulmer would not let go of that responsibility, who knows why, ego I guess. That is why he hired someone from Div II so he could control what he did.

Correct me if i am wrong, but, wasnt fulmer an offensive coordinator before he was the head coah? And, during that team were we ever 3-7? I am going to say that Fulmer watched the Clawfense as threw up in his mouth just like the rest of us. I bet what he really regrets was hiring this spaz to run the show.

3 different OC and the offense looks the same as it did for the last 10 years, maybe we should just get a new HC and keep Fulmer on as OC. I dont think so.

Think talent pool. Fulmer hasn't ever been REAL good with X's and O's which is why talent got him where he is now. The talent has gotten thinner and he is being exposed for the fraud he was then since Cut isn't here to coach the last decent QB we had on the roster. You keep blaming Clawson when he can only do so much with the talent on offense we have at this time. That's why we can't move the ball very well. Most of the talent we have right now that is going to be decent is young and undeveloped and Fulmer has never been that good with developing talent. Every player that has been worth a crap in the past 10 years have had the raw talent to make up for a coaching problem, now we have average players in a league that will expose that.
