RB's team beat Calipari's team.
I hate Calipari, but there is no question, Calipari can recruit and he can coach. He will likely be the winningest college bb coach of all time ... IF he stays in the college ranks.
But for all those who are thinking Rick is just a 'good' coach ... please take NOTE RB school Calipari tonight!!!
Fulky taking Oscar to the hole again and again!
Oh, and he is a REALLY good man, too!

It's past due. I, for one, have grown tired of beating Kentucky every year.

Heh. Well played. Always good to beat Kentucky.

That said, even Fulmer had good wins in his decline. I truly want Barnes to exit gracefully with the respect he is due. Not go out like an overweight octopus grabbing all the cash he can, like the aforementioned Fulmer.

CRB’s contract is set for several more years. I wouldn’t mind seeing his performance bonuses get sweetened. An extra $1,000,000 for a Final Four. Seems fair since Bruce got a million after igniting the dumpster fire.

Actual quote from Volnation 3 weeks ago after KY loss:

Rick Barnes is a good man. I just wish he was a good basketball coach. We’re not even going to make the tournament this year. Sad. Fire him! He has to go!!
There is at least one of those people in every fan base. Unfortunately, we have more of these jokers who post here. Best to just let them rant and realize their lack of knowledge and faith in a great basketball coach.

It is possible to think, as I do, that Barnes is a good, solid, decent man, be proud of how he represents the school, be very humbled and impressed by the message to Vitale, and still feel he has reached his peak and has started to slide as our HBC. I don't think the world is divided between Barnes haters and Barnes lovers.

He has earned a graceful exit over the next couple of years, and I hope he and the AD can make that happen and can make the transition smooth for all concerned.
How do you view he’s started to slide? We likely are going to have our best season in 3 years this year and next year would appear to be set up for success as well?

I'm curious about "has started to slide as our HBC". CRB's first two years were rough and we didn't make the NCAAT....now we're being talked about as a 3 seed and we just boat-raced a team many thought were going to win it all. You could make an argument that he's coaching as well or better than ever - at any of his stops as HBC.

Just a strange comment on such a special night Is it an age thing? A "graceful exit over the next couple of years" and go get somebody NOT in their sixties?

Not going to mention that "slide" that others did, but Barnes also has this program finally on a solid foundation, and still performing. Unlike Pearl, whose time here was immediate success but clearly shaky given how bad his last year was and how easily it toppled over, this program can sustain setbacks without falling off the face of the earth. Not sure why everyone is so dismissive of how much effort it takes to truly build a strong foundation.

If any fan is asking for a “graceful exit” of a coach currently on the cusp of a 3-seed, it speaks to the ever-present agenda that continues. I don’t care if our coach is 3-years-old, or 67, I’m keeping the guy having all the success. It must be tormenting to not to be able to enjoy a win like this.
