Clamoring for Milton ??

I believe your ESPN numbers are wrong - I also got it off of an online site - I will have to try to find it again. Not sure if it was an NCAA site or not. I know if was off a cumulative statistics site and then you had to click on the individual game. I will see if I can locate it again but the numbers you list are not even logical - you can't have the stats that Hooker had for the Pitt game completing almost 70 percent of his passes 2 touchdowns in about a half of play and end up with a rating of 60 or 70. Let me see if I can relocate it for you.

Milton won the job in training camp. He was injured in the second game of the year. There isn't enough data on him this year to say he's lost the starting job--he needs to be given a reasonable shot and if he doesn't get it together, HH can then take over. I will say I like Hooker's ability to run, but I think Milton still needs a little better shot to keep the job he won before a move is made.
Exactly

Yep if Milton is healthy I think he should start. Maybe he finds that rythm, if he doesn't go to Hooker. But maybe Milton has that light come on and he gets hot, if he struggles we can go to Hooker. But if he comes out and gets in a groove it could throw florida off. His arm alone is gonna keep them safties back. We have to give his potential a shot if he happens to get hot it will have been worth it! If he struggles we go with Hooker who has shown good flashes of being good himself. GBO!!!!!

It's a moot point against Florida - Neither Milton nor Hooker gives us a chance against Florida. I think Hooker gives us the better chance to win against S.C. and a few others and every potential win is critical to improved recruiting which includes the transfer portal and moving us up slightly in the SEC pecking order.

This place is the twilight zone, man. I guess we’ll need a poll on who should start. Then another on Tuesday that will show completely different results. Then on Saturday, 100 percent of opinions on the topic will decide the coach was wrong.

I'm clamoring for Milton. Sure, I liked what Hooker did in relief service, don't get me wrong. He has Josh Dobbs-style elusiveness. However, Milton is our starting QB this season and has the best abilities and chances of leading us to victory. The "overthrow" narrative spiraled out of control on VN. It blew up into a kind of groupthink and became "truth" almost instantly. It took on a life of its own and became equated with Milton being a terrible QB all around. But he's actually really good. He missed some key throws, okay. He can overcome that, get it right the next time. It's so crazy how those misses caused such a colossal fan meltdown. As for me, I'm in on Milton. Hooker is a solid backup. I hope Big-Eyed Bailey sees no meaningful snaps in 2021. He's the starter down the line, not now.
If Bailey is starting at any point Heupel is not doing a good job of getting a qb that fits his offense. At no point will non running, not very accurate, average arm, and super slow release be what Heupel is looking for to run his system. Milton is the man for the foreseeable future whether the “legions of the miserable” like it or they don’t.

Wouldn't be surprised if Milton keeps missing deep balls, so I get the distrust people have in him, but he hits on some of those and it changes everything and he's QB1 going away. I know we can't have anything nice, so I'm sure he will magically continue to miss every single deep ball in every game he plays here even though he hits them in practice all the time.

But Hooker can scrap us to 6-6 for sure.

Those "missed throws" caused us to lose the game and that caused the colossal fan meltdown. He hits just one of those throws and we run away with it.

The big thing I see is that Hooker is a WILLING runner. If its not there he will tuck it and go. Teaching him to slide sometimes is correctable. Milton is one of the biggest guys on the field and tries to side step guys. Hooker has shown in 2 different games that he will put his head down and try to get yardage. Also, WAY more accurate than Milton. Milton is always looking for the home run ball. I want a mixture. If you have a guy wide open 15 yards downfield or a guy with a step down the sideline, Id like sometimes to take the wide open 15 yard pass and hope for some YAC.

For me it a struggle between wins and the future...Hooker i believe can give us a more wins...right now...he is a dangerous runner and an avg passer, but he manages the game..He is very average..like Bennett was with GA..
MILTON on the other hand has the potential to be elite, if he can bring in arm and realize he outweighs most secondary by 30 plus pounds. IDK his backgroind but Milton feels like the kid that is talented but so pressured by outside sources to succeed to help family or whatever that he struggles...

Pretty sure that is factored into qb ratings - I'll let you do the research though.
Some might also argue that overthrowing a receiver that is wide open by 20 yards for a touchdown is equivalent to or even more damaging than a turnover since we
didn't score on that series. I'll wait.

Ask any coach in America if he’d rather his QB over throw an open wr or throw an INT. We all know the obvious answer to that

Yeah Bowling Green is a great football team. 😂

Milton is terrible period. Hooker is slightly better than terrible.
I would say that is likely an accurate comparison. I can flip/flop between which one is bad and which one is slightly less than bad from one series to another.

Doesn't matter who starts or finishes. Unless the OL gets it together, both Hooker and Milton(and probably Bailey) will be needed. Hell, we might as well go wildcat with Beckwith. Doubt it would make much difference.
Wildcat with Holiday.

The coaches have raved about Milton's good attitude and mastery of the offensive schemes. I have every reason to think he's teachable. I don't really understand why he instantly went from Chuck Norris jokes to the third stringer in some of our fans' minds. It was all based on one game where he was over-excited and chucked the ball too far about five times. (Overthrows weren't his main problem at Michigan, iirc.) Truth is, many of our fans are football ignorant and fickle as junior highers. Hate to say it, but it's on display everywhere in these boards. Still love 'em though. I like our mountain people.
Chuck Norris checks under the bed for Joe Milton.

Seriously though, you should have a look at the last two players to get that treatment. I don't think it means what you think it means.

I have never seen that argued.

Probably because if you run out of downs by overthrowing, you can still punt the ball. Conversely, I have never seen a team allowed to punt the ball after turning it over.
