CJP made some updates in fall press conference today per SBN. Some interesting things here - mostly because it is so short this year! Hopefully, the new S&C coach paying dividends.

Chance Hall is ready to go, but will be eased back into things. “I know he is really itching to get going. We have a plan and we are going to execute that plan,” Pruitt said.
Trey Smith will cleared for contact around August 20th. As Chris Low reported on Tuesday, Smith can participate in non-contact drills until then. As for what position he will play, Pruitt wouldn’t commit to anything. He did say that he hopes to keep him in the same spot throughout the season, however.
J.J. Peterson: Pruitt noted that only one player isn’t in Knoxville yet, which is J.J. Peterson. He said that is “still working on some things and he’ll be here as soon as he can get it done.”
Jauan Jennings will be limited to start camp, Pruitt confirmed. He said that they will limit his reps throughout camp.
Todd Kelly Jr. is a “full go” after missing much of the 2017 season with a knee injury. That’s good news for a secondary group that could use the veteran presence.

Pruitt may be right about the reason for all the injuries over the past few seasons. A very large percentage of those injuries were coming in practice under Butch Jones. Suddenly, with a new coach and different practice habits, we don't see half of our O-line and D-line on the 'injured list.'

It really makes you wonder what the hell Butch had them doing in practice.

This just demonstrates the inefficiencies in Lyle's system.

High number of practice injuries in exchange for piss poor coaching and play.

Has anyone ever thought that a lot of our starts missed due to injury were maybe due too not wanting to finish a crappy season under a crappy coaching staff? IMO there were players that that were hurt but milked it. There is a difference in hurt and unable to play. I mean when your allowed to call it quits after getting injured on a Butch Jones team and not even have to participate in team activities or still be involved in some way and show up ready for QB duty against Vandy when your ready. Most kids now days are going take that road. But under Pruitt it's totally opposite. Get popped hard and cry my leg hurts you'll find yourself in the pit swinging sledge hammers for three hours. Hurt a shoulder and run your butt off for 3 hours. Not that Coach is mistreating our players, just giving them incentive to toughen up and play ball. JMO but I seriously think games missed due to injuries will be at a minimum this season.

I think the injuries were on the strength and conditioning program. Didn't seem like players were in shape for practice much less SEC games.

I'm a fan of no one unless they win. So fulmer. Just saying before you think jp is greatest all time, remember he's done less than Jones to prove what kind of coach he is.
he has already passed botch w/o coaching a game because he is a better coach of the game look at the kids work ethic now vs last year.botch had nfl talent all over the roster and did nothing.no one cares about 8-4,9-4,9-4 because all 3 of those teams had the talent to be better but found ways to loose to fla,sc,vandy 2x,etc.2016 should have been a 1 loss playoff team look at that roster even with multiple injuries but we wanna throw the ball in ot against texas a&m when we couldnt be stopped running the ball thats all coaching

Todd Kelly won’t see the field on D unless it’s mop up time. He doesn’t fit this system. Maybe a ST star tho. Glad he is healthy.
