CJP is SEC Coach of the year if....

I am a Pruitt fan, but I don't think he is there yet. The dark lord over at Alabama is probably coach of the year, especially in the SEC. Then you have Kirby and Coach O that have been solid. I know we just beat up on Kentucky this weekend, but Stoops has done pretty well with what he has there. First year coaches, Mullen and Fisher have done well. I think Pruitt is worth being in the conversation. But with SEC being the best conference, there is a lot of competition in all aspects.
Saban first and Stoops second is my prediction, not what I hope it will be. Lots of football to be played yet though.

Non biased fan would probably go with 3 loss Gators...

My friend is an Ohio State fan and we discussed everything we could think of and I was arguing for Mullen, just so I didn't feel I was showing favoritism. I think the fact Pruitt is a first year HC and we were 0-8 in the SEC last year gives him the edge. Just my opinion. But, like you said, if he does finish strong and doesn't get it, I won't riot.

Good point. I didn't consider the first year HC angle. Guys on SECN pretty much agreed on Pruitt if he wins out.

Fade brought that up too in his response to me. Although I don't give it much credit my friend says he likes the fact that Pruitt beat a team pretty handily that Mullen lost to.

Bama likely SEC and National title.

UGA SEC runner up and possible playoff team.

UF likely 9-3 after an awful season.

UK likely 9-3 and the best season since like the ‘80s or something.

I mean CJP has blown my expectations out of the water but I doubt whoever decides that will concur.

We all know Saban is without doubt the best coach in college football today. Possibly the best of all time. And he coaches more or less equally well every single year (he, and his teams, are remarkably consistent).

So why isn't he the coach of the year, every year of the past decade, for all the organizations that select a CoY?

Because other coaches have mamas too :)

Like I said earlier, I don't know what they look at to determine it, but obviously Nick is in a class if his own, but is what he's done this year any more impressive than what he did last year? I mean, I'm not taking anything away from what he's done, I just don't know if its what you look at for this type of award. IDK.

Same with Kirby. He won COY last year, but look at how he improved over the previous year. I don't see him getting it at all.

I think Pruitt, Mullen and Stoops are the main 3. That is if they all win out obviously.

Really? If Mullen wins his next 2 he will have gone 9-3 with 2 wins over ranked SEC teams (23 and 5).

Bama probably going undefeated and win another NC.

I mean, I have no clue how its decided, but I would love to Jeremy get it.

Not disagreeing with you, but just thought I’d say this while I’ve got you here. Pruitt is as good or better as Dan Mullen at game planning and on game days. Pruitt is also an electronic recruiter, Mullen is average to good. I am so glad Mullen did not come here.

I think it would be cool if he wins it, but I'm not sure its a big deal to him or not. I think if he wins out, he'll be just fine if he doesn't get it. I will be too. Go to a bowl and win it, he'll be COY to me. With no question.
