With CJH I feel like we have a coach that fully understands what he's doing and why he's doing it. At least he can verbalize it where it is coherent and makes good sense. As a leader one must be able to not only see the immediate need to be successful but also the long term need as well. It's generally not a quality many possess but CLEARLY CJH has both. I'm not saying he'll rack up multiple SEC or National Championships (I certainly hope so) but just that I feel like he's going to be a consistent and trusted leader for our football program as long as he's here.

Really liked his final answer suggesting they would fill specific needs through the portal, but the foundation of the program is still going to be built on the development of guys they get from HS.

This is a VERY good to great class. Ranked 8th-10th nationally depending on which service, but that is misleading. When it comes to NEEDS and HOLES like the secondary that prevented us from being in the playoffs with a shot at a title....it is a GREAT class. We got some bigtime "star" type players at QB, MLB, and EDGE...arguably the 3 most important positions on the field. Huge talent influx coming in the secondary too...really the entire defensive side of the ball. On top of that we got 3 bigtime WR, a BIG running back for short yardage situations at minimum, a couple hosses on both the Oline and Dline.

Great class IMO. Very SMART class by our coaching staff. Next season our focus will have to be on the Oline IMO, we will lose most of our starters on the line after this season.

Not a major thing but for the "what about his health" folks, not a single cough in that presser.

Maybe it was just too damn warm in Knoxville until recently for a South Dakota boy.

Bruh has access to multiple nutritionists and trainers at his fingertips 24/7/365. His habits are going to age him prematurely.

I think Heup’s a fantastic coach, but he needs to walk the walk in this regard. Great leaders never ask more of others than they’re willing to give themselves.

If you can recruit consistently top 10, you will always have a chance to compete. Not dominate. But compete.

Meh. He's 44 with a family and an SEC Head Coach.

He hasn't got the time to work out like the S&C coach would like nor eat like the nutritionists would prefer.

Honestly, I want him in the office making recruiting calls, in the plane/car on the way to visits, gladhanding donors at wine/cheese events...... and, oh yeah, in the film room, in the meeting rooms with players and coaches, in locker room motivating, on the practice field with his eyes wide open, and a hundred other things involved to coach TN football.

And he's got a wife to love and be with and a couple of teenagers to love and parent.

Besides, QBs always go to s@$t when they retire.

You don't think there are EXTREMELY successful CEOs who can't sell, do a Quality Control Test, answer a receptionist's busy phone, drive a tractor trailer...etc.

Yep, he's been like that from the beginning, everything he does tends to make sense. It's not always like that, as we well know.

We are ranked 10th and top 13 have a higher average per player than we do. We have too many 3 star players.

Compared to Fulmer and Cheney, Heup is downright slim 😂

I’ve been saying this for a long time agree 100% CJH just gets it and it’s Authentic and genuine… he just brought in an elite defensive class on all 3 levels the culture will develop players and UT will be a constant playoff team in the expansion NIL era…

I’m sorry I indicated that should be your takeaway.

I’ve met lots of successful leaders who complimented their own skill sets with partners that do things better. I’ve met none that were not willing to try every job to understand it better, even if failing made them look silly.

Look, nobody is looking for Heup to chase down Bryce Young from the back side, or even chase <5% body fat while doing regular Tough Mudders.

I love the guy. I now ZERO about his personal habits, but he looks like I used to before monitoring my caloric intake and committing to 30 minutes of ANY exercise every day. I want him to be healthy and Coach UT a long time. Right now it don’t look like he is healthy.

Hell, Saban & Kirby can at least get to Dad bod after two Oatmeal Cream Pies for breakfast. It ain’t a high bar.

We finally have a Coach that has a plan and knows how to make that plan work. I also think he enjoys being in Knoxville and thinks this is a destination job. We are finally in good hands. I think the sky is the limit for the Vols heading forward. Great job by CJH and the rest of the Vols staff getting more pieces of the puzzle in recruiting. Let’s go get #11 for 2022 and keep building this thing. Go Vols beat the tigers and whinny Dabo!!
