If I were Mr Saban, I would go ahead and consider retirement now. I think that's the best course of action.

Is this a "something in the air" thread?

I feel it. Soon.

I don't like the quiters on this thread saying we don't beat Saban at Bama. So much wrong with that thinking.
A fan being grounded in reality is the wrong way of thinking and therefore branded a quitter? We're fans, not players. Come on, man.

Meh, I really don't care about GA. We always find a way to beat them even when they are "better" than us. We need to start being FL on a regular basis.

What is posted in this thread is so beyond realistic. Sorry you don't get to play it that way. Even with Saban at the helm, things can change. Everyone is beatable. Everyone is more beatable when side improves. Everyone is even more beatable when one side improves and other slides back. Even for fans saying the team can't win a certain game is a quiters mentality. Why bother to follow? Why bother to watch? You can't win. Again way more than just being realistic.

Before anointing him as the one how about he at least put a team on the field that can cover the spread against UF, UGA, or Bama first? Is it too much to ask he actually defeat them?

I'm not going to drink that koolaid just yet. But I gotta be honest, UT has ended a few big named coaching careers.

Who breaks down this Saban wall…

it’s what Volunteers do
Hope so. A full normal year of recruiting should help things. If he can get more than 8 wins next fall then he should be able to build some recruiting momentum. Honestly, 10 wins aren't unrealistic considering the current state of UF. Do that and continue to develop culture and play exciting football... and recruiting starts to be fun.

The Covid eligibility makes it hard to tell who returns who... but UK had 11 starting Srs on D this year and 3 Srs starting on their OL.

Tennessee Vol fans are waaay to harsh on themselves.

Literally no other coach has broken down the Saban wall. He has a winning record against every coach he's went against that is still active.
Will Heupel win a game against Bama?
I don't think so. Not while Saban is there.

But 9-3, 10-2 type seasons I would be more than happy with
I am not saying it is Heupel but someone will break the code. It has happened to every great coach and will happen to Saban too unless he choose to retire before letting it happen. He gets credit for recognizing and evolving with the game but no one does that perfectly every time.

I think he might be the guy but I’m not getting my hopes up yet. I’ve been burned too many times by TN football in the past
