Look I get it. Here recently, I’m seeing more and more talk from people that believes this. The right vs. the left will fight each other. Good(right) vs. the left(evil). I don’t want a civil war, but the talk is spreading like wildfire! If something happens to Trump, then it is on. If the left starts to protest, and it turns into wildness for 2020 if Trump wins, then the right will start fighting back. The right is saying that they have had enough from the left attacking them. The right says that if the left starts coming after their guns, then a civil war will start. The only thing that will tick me off is, is that come and try to take my guns, because I will fight then. I think you have to, because you have to protect your family and property. We have this right to carry guns, and to have free speech.

Not going to happen. People are too comfortable. We arent even to the point of civil unrest that there was with the civil rights movement and Vietnam. I wasnt around then but I doubt we were at the point of civil war then.

Now if another recession hit, the Dems actually push through their secret impeachment process, and a couple other things you might see some real civil unrest.

If you actually talk to people we arent as far a part as we think we are. The media just drives the division to sell themselves and their party. If they keep us divided they keep us coming back to them for security and reassurance that we are right and "they" are wrong. The politicians do the same.

If you go down the hot button items most people are fairly Luke warm.
Most dems dont want to steal the guns they just want to see the promise of a vague something being done.
Most conservatives wouldnt riot if Trump got removed, most people are ready for him to be gone. It's just to be done open and honestly. A good chunk would breathe a sigh of relief if he was voted out.
The green movement is big but again most people recognize the US isnt the problem, or actually arent willing to make the changes they demand. And most Rs wouldnt care if the changes were made. It's a policy thing not a lifestyle one.
Wealth redistribution of whatever flavor is probably one of the most likely culprits to cause unrest. Most people recognize stealing is wrong, and you even see Dem donors pulling back from Warren. I think this is one of those things you might see flair up but get smothered pretty quick as people figure out you cant get blood from a stone.
Healthcare is not something that could drive us to violence. Hopefully everyone sees how self defeating that is. 80+% of the nation has insurance. People weren't dying in the streets pre ACA. This has been made a political topic but it's not a real life topic.

How can I say any of the above? I ride the train daily for years. I talk with strangers fairly regularly and if I am not talking with them I can overhear them. People are apathetic. Remember there are 230 million voters. But less than 100 million have voted in the last several elections. That's not ground of civil war between the two sides. To me it speaks more of the division between the people and the government. People.recognizing the divide from what is real to them and what the talking boxes have to say.

Wont happen. That is why abortion should be embraced. Fully legal abortion at any term allows left wingers to reduce their own numbers legally. Less poor, less left, less crime, less carbon foot print. Save the earth and society in one fell scrape.

The Army would vaporize any armed insurrection from the right or the left.

Civil War is a pretty big deal. If a Beto type actually got elected and no **** started gun confiscation sweeps there'd be some real issues but we're not there yet.

Could some Antifa types get too full of themselves with the wrong people and get jacked up and that ripples a bit in some places? Maybe, but CW? That's a big leap from where we are now.

Good post LV. Most people are dependent on basic needs such as food from the grocery stores, fuel, their employment, etc. If those needs are disrupted for a long period, then maybe you would begin to see absolute lawlessness in the streets, but until then....nope.

Besides, people clamoring for civil war are not completely aware of the effects it would have on EVERYTHING and EVERYONE, including their own families.

Those who do not learn from history are doomed to repeat it.

I'm not concerned with the antifa types. I believe my yorkie would take care of several of them.

Civil war very unlikely, I would though be is support of some kind of split. Doubt that's really even possible but it would be nice

LOL! Yeah, kinda the point. A couple of these people are on course to get "taken care of" which will undoubtedly lead to a bunch of histrionics of which the media will happily spin in all directions. There could even be some rioting. Still far short of anything inciting CW.
