We were 2-time defending Big East champions, and besides Oklahoma, we were everyone's big game last year (IMO). Fresno State was foaming at the mouth for us to come to their house and they were a pretty solid team last year and we had to start the year with a new coach with a 10:30 local time kickoff out there. NC State was a prime time game as well and they were pumped. Plus all the Big East schools wanted us badly. We saw more trick plays, etc, then I had ever seen. Got the kitchen sink thrown at us every game it seems.

Now our lack of depth, especially on defense hurt and we seemed to have more than our share of injuries last year.

And it was one of those years where the ball just seemed to bounce the other way. Every time we put it on the ground, it seemed to bounce right to the defense. When we forced a fumble, it seemed to take a crazy bounce back to the offense. Those things seem to work themselves out (Probably some makeup for I think it was 2008 when we did not lose a fumble or not one until late, can't remember honestly).
