Cigar /Pipe Smoking thread

Today, I share with you, greatness. The Zino platinum chubby tubos from it’s original release in 2008 to this one from around 2016 whence it has sat in a humi.

The flavors are so special. So incredibly refined. The only thing I can compare it to is Davidoff’s Oro Blanco. Not every cigar can stand the test of time but these are definitely delicious.

Breaking out something special for this game. From 2010
Perfect construction. Flavors are medium but good for 15+ years old. Mostly baking spices, graham crackers, not buttery but short bread. Still has a nicotine punch to it.

For a game smoke I’m having the delightful EPCarillo pledge apogee, which was cigar #1 in the more diminutive Prequel vitola.

Really an amazing fatty, rich chocolate, aged leather, subtle sweetness, mild spices. Unlike others I have had, this one has a draw that is a bit too open. Cigar is packed well though.

I bought a box of robustos at a price I’d love to see again…

Whenever CI or Thompson have a 30% deal, I almost always go for a box of prequels. CP Carrillo is not on their no discount list.

The Ernesto Perez-Carillo Cuba Aliados is the rebirth of Rolando Reyes Sr’s iconic brand. Made in Tabacalera La Alianza with a blend of Dominican, Nicaraguan, and Honduran filler, a US broadleaf Connecticut binder, and an Ecuadorian Sumatra wrapper, they are toothy, full bodied cigars. Chocolatey, nutty, earthy, spicy, with just the right sweetness. I bought some more of these, taking advantage of introductory discounts.

After only one, this cigar is vying for my favorite maduro. Ernesto hit it perfectly with the cure of the wrapper combined with the choice of binder and filler. Dark chocolate, coffee, “burnt sugar,” pepper - complex flavors balanced just right. Medium body - no overwhelming nicotine kick - subtle and matched to the flavor profile. If he allowed tours of his factory, I’d be booking a trip to Dominica.
