Cigar /Pipe Smoking thread

I’ll watch the second half of the championship later. For now I’m working in the garage enjoying some Mac Baren Vanilla Cream in my gorgeous vintage Benjamin Barling &Sons pipe.

Enjoying one of my Rocky Patel Renaissance torpedoes. Was my first order on Cigar Page, but I didn’t appreciate the more robust offering at that stage of my stogie journey…needed to be sweeter and milder. Now I love not having to relight several times a session. Appreciate the insights on here with the more advanced regulars.

Lighting up an old favorite, #1 cigar of the year a few years back. Needs no intro, the ep Carollo pledge prequel

I’m quite fond of those. I use an old Pledge box as a quick access short term storage option. It’s well made as cigar boxes go, with overlapping lip and hasp. I keep it seasoned like a wooden humidor and seldom have more than 8 cigars in it along with a 69% boveda. This keeps me from opening the humiTUB too often.

Ordered some Chiba Blacks. What am I looking forward to?

From what I remember, very coffee bean expresso like with leather and some red pepper (but I dont remember it being a problem). Great construction and smoke levels. Definitely something to look forward to.

Ya, same here. I remember a nice even burn, lots of smoke. Agree with the coffee notes but I think it starts kinda sweet. Nice oily dark wrapper. I remember liking it.
Let us know what you find.
I like sweet as long as I get the STRONG…and the even ash burn is a must. Started out loving sweeter mild cigars like Drew Estates Tabak Especial Dolce…tastes have advanced.

You set the path I followed. 😎

Enjoying a rare round Oliva V Melanio. Essentially, it’s a Melanio deemed not right for box pressing, a second. This was part of overproduction purchased by CigarPage and sold for pennies on the dollar. The ones shipped to me were drier than the Atacama Desert. Six weeks in the humiTUB, and this one’s fit for smoking with a little Greenbrier Tennessee whiskey.
