Chucky still loves UT

Hart seems competent enough to already have a list prepared. You feel Gruden out because you have to. Same with PC, but I don't see him as realistic either. He's a west coast guy now. If he returns to college, I think it's PAC-however many teams they have now. I just don't see him wanting into the SEC.

I just don't see Carroll coming to UT. I think Arizona and Arizona State ****ed up bad. They should have rode it out one more year with Stoops/Erickson, then have a bidding war for Carroll...because we all know he's not going to last in Seattle barring a miracle this year.

Although I do like Rich-Rod at Arizona.

You wouldn't call him?

Will he come here? I don't think so. That doesn't mean you shouldn't call him and try to make a huge offer.

The 10 mil for his work at ESPN is pulled straight out of the ass.

Do I think he will be an option. Yes. Do I think he would be consider the HC job. Yes. Do I think he has it made where he is now? Yes. Ball would be in his court.

Unless the itch is unbearable, I say he stays a commentator. He gets the pay plus he gets much more free time to spend with his family. Coaches at either level rarely have free time.

Sure shoot him a text with a number, but I would hope that Hart had some realistic options that he would consider if Dooley failed this year. The last thing we need is this huge story coming out that Gruden is coming to Knoxville only for it to fizzle just like the Miami thing did, and then you are more than likely faced with settling for a coach. If Dooley were to fail this year, the closest thing to a slam dunk hire would be if/when Pete Carroll gets fired. That would be realistic.

Nobody in the UT fan base wants anything to do with any coach past or present with USC affiliation...EVER AGAIN...For sure!:eek:k:

Ur um...Except for CJF

Yeah I was wrong, it is in the 6-7 range. For some reason I was thinking 8.3 million he got for MNF, but it was 4.3. And I disagree with you about him considering job, but it's fine to think otherwise. I don't see him turning down a job like the Cowboys (if they fail this year), Giants (if Couglin retires), Bears, or any other respectable NFL job if he was itching to get back. But I sure as hell would love to eat crow on this.

If Pete Carroll shows interest to UT, I guarantee you there would be thousands of fans willing to give a left nut because that would mean we were coming off another bad season and a championship coach giving us a look.

The difference between CJG and CPC is "roots"...and CPC left USC and Reggie in flames with a fast exit

You could back the truck up with money neither one of those two would give it a look, not Hollywood enough for either one of those guys, they like the Hollywood seen.

Is that optimism? WTH? Someone has spent enough time on VN yet. Optimism isn't allowed here! We only deal in pessimism!

Yes, that's sarcasm.

I think that's true of PC. He's a west coast guy. Gruden is more blue collar. He could fit in anywhere, as long as he enjoyed the people he was working with. As I said before, I don't see him coaching here, but it's not because he dislikes UT. I think he would consider UT IF he wanted to coach in the college ranks, but I just don't get the feeling he does. I think he likes his current gig and sticks with it.

Chucky has said before that he really like's UT, his wife's from here, but he's got a nice cushy job with ESPN, not sure he'd ever come back to coaching anywhere.

Yeah, the last paragraph makes it sound like he wants to come back to Tennessee, but what else would he say under the circumstances? I don't think it means much. On the other hand, if CDD doesn't get it done, the first guy I would go after is Gruden....with my wallet wide open.

Really this..

Is there a good possibility he gonna say.. No thanks. Ya probably, I would still offer to back up the brinks truck to his drive way and make him say no before I gave up on the idea..

No matter, Dooley gets it done this year anyway.. I understand peoples skepticism, but its gonna happen :peace2:

Gruden would never coach here IMO.. Not sure what "indicators" you're talking about... He was a guest, and he was being nice.
