If Dooley doesn't work out this year, and Dave Hart doesn't offer Gruden a STARTING OFFER of $5M a year, then Hart should be fired.

Hmmm.... take 5 million to coach a college team, make over 10 million at ESPN, or take more than 5 million from about 5 NFL teams camped out beside your door. Which one do you think is the last one option of those?

For the same reason I choose to work as an Engineer after having been a Plant Manager, et.al...Money only goes so far and the sacrifices to make it at a certain time in your life... many times just isnt worth it...especially when you can follow your heart.:good!:

The perceived difference between 5M and 10M is negligible...Either sets you for life

He makes 10+ mil a year at ESPN? I find that hard to believe.

Depends on his criteria. When you already have millions of dollars, money isn't necessarily the deciding factor. That said, I don't see him coming to UT. Just a feeling.

Exactly.

Folks need to be happy he agreed to do what he did and leave it at that.

You wouldn't call him?

Will he come here? I don't think so. That doesn't mean you shouldn't call him and try to make a huge offer.

Money means more to those who don't have it. Those that do can afford to make decisions based on other factors. Gruden has plenty of money.

Sure shoot him a text with a number, but I would hope that Hart had some realistic options that he would consider if Dooley failed this year. The last thing we need is this huge story coming out that Gruden is coming to Knoxville only for it to fizzle just like the Miami thing did, and then you are more than likely faced with settling for a coach. If Dooley were to fail this year, the closest thing to a slam dunk hire would be if/when Pete Carroll gets fired. That would be realistic.

I'm pretty sure it's $3M.

4.3 just for MNF. No numbers released for his QB show, his draft analysis, etc... Probably not 10, for some reason I thought it was 8.3. However, it's probably over 6 and then you would have to consider a raise to keep him there because they love him and so does everyone that watches MNF.

Everyone knows it's a pipe dream. Just handle it properly and everything will be fine. I'm sure Miami fans are happy with Golden right now.

Speaking of Golden, I wouldn't mind giving him a call, either.

Hart seems competent enough to already have a list prepared. You feel Gruden out because you have to. Same with PC, but I don't see him as realistic either. He's a west coast guy now. If he returns to college, I think it's PAC-however many teams they have now. I just don't see him wanting into the SEC.
